Texture packs
Update/NEW texturepack.
-my 2. go at a kind of "real life" racetrack environment.

...so WELCOME to my version of LFS.

Files in "text_edit2_to dds folder_1/2" goes to the DDS folder,
and files in "to pic folder" goes to the PIC folder.
(the files are splitted in 3 because of LFSforums max 2mb upload.
-so u have to dl all 3 zips)
(remember to backup the original files, if u think this is crap)

Notes:
- the XR rearlights, the gray RA interior, and the big Dunlop tyre
was made by somebody else,
cant remember who, but I hope its okay I post it here.
- gray Sparco wheel, TenzoR wheel (for FOX), and Recaro seat.
- racing middle consol (interior for standard cars)
- HKS logo on exhaust on LX6
- Dunlop/Castrol/CRC suits.
- CRC marshall suit.

EDIT
I am going to make a complet new update of my texturepacks,
so I remove this one.

They look great apart from 1 thing, I dont see no AF or AA. If you are unable to use full AF or AA, I could sort it if you want?
But overall they look good, well done :up:

hey... my unnamed onboard graphic card is from 1984,
so I still dont know what u are talking about.


...hope the dds files are in ok quality?
I have spent a silly amount of hours to make them.
Here are the screenshots with AA and AF enabled. See the diffrence?

DDS files are great, no need to worry about them.

I use my own, but your looks VERY good from the screenies.

Have you noticed a lot of mapping 'bugs' throughout. Just after the Start at Aston Club/National/Historic one of the adverts sort of maps half and half with other ones. Blah, that didn't make sense. But anyway, a few places had me ripping my hair out in clumps.

yes.. its very difiucult in some places to get the mapping right.
-because some of the mapping are stretched,
and in some places its compresed.
-and in other places only a part of a dds is used.
-not to mention all those shared dds's on different tracks...

You don't turn it on in LFS, you have to turn it on in Windows. Usually, using an applet that comes with your video card (like the ATI control panel).

I have a couple comments if you don't mind some constructive criticism.

The textures all look really nice, but there seems to be a lot of repetition. For instance, in your texture pack ads5.dds has two Dunlop banners out of four total. ADS8.dll has two Dunlop and two Yokohama. ADSKyoto2.dds has two Advan ads out of the four available. Might I suggest you mix these up a bit more? Most of the tracks seem to be virtually owned by Dunlop and Castrol since those are the majority of the ads that you end up seeing.

Also, I found it quite strange that you had Dunlop, Advan, Yokohama, and Kumho tires ALL represented. Ditto for Carlube/Castrol for oil and Total/BP for fuel. Normally a race event is sponsored by one company and the others advertising is minimal. You might consider picking one tire company, one fuel company, one oil company, etc. You can still throw other ads in there, but seeing a Dunlop ad right next to a Kumho ad just doesn't look right.

Where do you turn AA and AF in LFS???

Could someone show me a screen shot, maybe my card cant support these.

depends on what type of card you have Nvidia, or ATi, usually if you right click on desktop and go to properties and last tab, and somewhere in there it has like advanced, go there, look for some graphics card settings, and look around and you should find it
For an ATI card right click on desktop choose properties > settings > advanced > 3d > custom

yep.. that was my problem too. -and my red one is still too dark i guess.

-maybe if i make it pink it will turn out bright red ingame.
because LFS darkens the texture of the tires and the wheel, if you look at the texture for the wheel, its almost white, but ingame its a brownish grey dark color (i made a red stripe too, but put it back to normal since it .. had almost no affect its to dark)

doesnt matter how bright it is, the texture itself is white you know.. and its still extremely dark ingame
