Baltic Cup 2012 - Rules

BALTIC CUP 2012 RULES

Arriving to the server you must obey these rules at all times (also at forum).

1. Participation
1.1. To participate in Baltic Cup 2012 Season, you must be from one of the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania), there are no exceptions this season also, so please don't ask if you can race if you are not from Baltic States.

2. Qualification
2.1. Qualification is 1 hour long.
2.2. Each community's representatives must organize the qualification for their own country and inform about the upcoming qualifications date, time and server at LFSForum.net Baltic Cup section (it is also advised to do it at your community forum, if you have one to get as many drivers as possible).
2.3. There is no limit for the drivers during the qualification, anyone from particular country is allowed to participate in his qualification, but only drivers with the TOP10 fastest lap times at the qualification get to race. For each country it is separately, so 30 drivers in total during the race.
2.4. Each country must have their qualification at least 48h before the race.
2.5. After qualification, each country's representative must save replay and send it to me.
2.6. Layout will be used if needed.
2.7. It is forbidden to bumpdraft or draft on purpose during the qualification. (In case where you can't avoid the draft, it will be forgiven, but try to avoid it even if the driver in front of you is on your perfect trajectory. Let go off gas if you are not sure your time will be counted).

*Failing to obey the rule 2.7, 1 second time penalty will be added to your qualification time.

3. Race
3.1. Each race will be ~45min long.
3.2. Drivers who didn't take part during the qualification can still participate in the race if there is a place left in case if there weren't 10 drivers during the qualification or someone withdraws before the race. They will be placed at the back of the grid (To do this, you will first have to show that you are able to do a lap in that combo within a 105% of WR and that you have done at least 30 laps on that combo). This is because we don't want drivers to cause any trouble during the race only because of the reason that they haven't had any practice.
3.3. Each race will start with a "lag lap". There will be a restart before the race leader finishes his first lap.

4. Pit Stops
4.1. 1 mandatory pit stop during each race (free work).
4.2. Cutting exit pit lane with at least 2 wheels is forbidden during the race. It is also not advised during the qualifications.
4.3. Making a pit stop in the first lap or last lap is forbidden (Unless you have a damaged car after a crash on the same lap -> damaged car only means if you have huge problems with the steering or if it can affect the other drivers in any way with you being on the track for another lap).

*Failing to obey the rule 4.2. will result in +15sec (for each time) time penalty added to your finishing time.
*Failing to obey the rule 4.3. will result in +15sec time penalty added to your finishing time if done during the first lap and automatic +30sec penalty given by server if done on the last lap.

5. Grid Sorting
5.1. TOP 10 drivers from each country are sorted by lap times.
5.2. If two or more drivers have the same time, the one who did the lap first will get the higher starting position.
5.3. In order to start the race on time, each driver must be in server 10 minutes before the start of the race to setup the grid.

6. Country Code and Name Format
6.1. Country code: Must be colored blue for EE (Estonia), red for LV (Latvia) and green for LT (Lithuania).
6.2. Name format: - F.Surname (white, also the dash).
Example:
· EE – R.Rōōts
· LV – A.Pavars
· LT – M.Runas

*Failing to do so will result a +15sec time penalty to your race finishing time if done during the race or +1sec to your qualification time if done during the qualification.

7. Chatting Rules
7.1. It is forbidden to chat during the race and not advisable to chat during the qualifications although it's not forbidden, since it is each country's own decision during the qualification.
7.2. It is forbidden to use rude and offensive language, be provocative or in any other way disrespect any of the drivers or countries at forums or servers. (We will be harsh with this rule, because of the behavior during some of the previous seasons.)

*Failing to obey the rule 7.1. during the race will result in a warning for the first time and +10sec time penalty for any other line after warning, which will be added to your race finishing time. (This means, that even a smiley or a letter counts as chatting and the penalty will be given.)
*Failing to obey the rule 7.2. during any event (qualification or race) or forums which have something to do with this league, can lead to ban for the whole season or even permanent ban for the league after organizers/admins decision. What is considered as provocative and offensive can be decided by league organizers.

Chat Open! & Chat Closed! commands will be used.

8. Short cutting
8.1. Short cutting is forbidden at all times. 2 of the wheels must be on track at all times (including curbs). You must let go off gas after the incident to not gain any advantage over the other drivers. If not, then the time penalty will be added to your finishing race time.

1 time = Warning
2-5 times = +10sec
6-10 times = +15sec
11. - ... = DQ from the race

9. General rules
9.1. It is not advisable to attend the race if you have problems with your internet connection or if you are lagging. (In this kind of cases you might not be allowed to race if the organizer or the administrator thinks it is not safe for the other drivers.)
9.2. During the races and qualifications it is forbidden to stand or leave your car on track. (You can leave it in the pit area.)
9.3. You must race with the same car in the race as you raced during the qualification.
9.4. In case of timing out or loosing a connection, you should come back to server and continue racing. We will total up the laps you did before loosing connection and after in order to find your final finishing position.
9.5. In case of a withdrawal after qualifying for the race, you must notify us about it at least 1 hour before the race.
9.6. There are 2 drop rounds during the whole season, meaning that the 2 rounds where you will have the least points from all the season will not count in the standings.
9.7. Server password will be changed right before the race start when the grid sorting is finished. The new password will be told in the server right before it is changed. This will be done to prevent random people joining the server during the race, because the server password is always told on public forum where anyone is able to see it. Also, that means you can't be late for the race or you won't be able to get in the server.

*Disobeying rule 9.1. in case where organizers/admins don't notice the problem with your connection during the race can lead to penalties in case if other drivers suffer from it. That's why it is advisable to make sure that everything is good with your connection if you have any doubt.
*Disobeying rule 9.5. you will be penalized with -10 points in the standings.
*Rule 9.6. does not drop rounds, where the least points per round is caused by disqualification, ban or penalty* from the race. *By penalties meaning penalties where you have been forbidden to attend the race for some reason, and not the time or point penalties given after the race.

10. Behavior on track
10.1. Pile driving, dive bombing and unfair game play is forbidden at all times.
10.2. You must obey Blue Flag* and Yellow Flag* at all times.
*In case of a Blue Flag, you must let the faster driver to overtake you in a safe and respectful manner and at an appropriate location.
*In case of a Yellow Flag, you must be ready to let go off gas or even brake to not cause any further trouble on the track. You are forbidden to crash or make an unsafe move on the overlapped driver on purpose, only because you have an advantage on him.

*Disobeying the rule 10.2. you will be penalized after the race according to the situation.

11. Other Penalties
11.1. All the other penalties will be dealt with after the race depending on the situation. Penalties will be given only after driver reports. Unless someone is being very ignorant about the rules and ignores the warning from the organizers/admins, then it can lead to penalties even without reports. .
11.2. All the penalties will be dealt with a time added to your finishing time during the race or points subtracted from the standings.
11.3. In case of using hacks or cheating to get an advantage in qualification or during the race, you will be disqualified from the race, your points will erase for the whole season and you will get a permanent ban for all the ongoing and upcoming season of Baltic Cup.
11.4. Disobeying any other obvious behavior rules or disrespecting the organizers/admins can lead to a disqualification for the whole season, meaning that also your points will be erased. In a very strong penalty case, it can also lead to a permanent ban for the upcoming seasons.

12. Points system
12.1. Each driver will get points according to their final finishing position and will be added in the Driver Standings after the final results are made.
12.2. TOP7 driver points (for each race) from each country will be added to the Country Standings.

Wouldn't it be better to just PM everyone the "new" password, or the nation representatives could just get one and post it somewhere in their forums/chats/whatsoever?
Quote :Also, that means you can't be late for the race or you won't be able to get in the server.

IMHO its not fair, if person just comes back to home minutes before the race, he doesn't get a chance to get into it.

It would be pretty annoying to PM everyone. It wouldn't work well and it's time taking. Especially when many of the drivers don't check this forum too often.
Giving password to representatives doesn't really change the fact, that people who didn't qualify can still come to the server. With "random people" I didn't just mean people from abroad, also people from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania who are not supposed to be in the race.

And password is set just before the start, so I don't really see what's the difference. If a person can't make it, then he shouldn't qualify for the race etc. It's not like I will set the password 10 minutes before the race. I will set it ~30 seconds before the race start, so I don't see any problem.
And there is also a rule to be in server at least 10 minutes before the race to set up the grid, so don't be late.

ffs, just do it like it was done before, baltic12 or w/e
I won't take the responsibility if someone comes in and starts crashing or messing around in the server etc. Then everyone will blame organizers for not doing their work properly. This way we won't have any problems.
The password will be known for everyone in the server.
You anyway have to be in server on time, so I don't see how this changes anything for the drivers.
No more discussion about it, it won't be changed.

Also: Especially for our beloved driver Dmt, if you want to race in a league, I would advice you to stop with the "LV Urlas" stuff. (You know what I'm talking about.) I will consider it as a provocation and disrespect against us and as you can read in rule #7.2. it will lead to a disqualification for a whole season. Especially for you, when you don't even know what that word means, but you use it more often than people in our country.

It is forbidden to use rude or offensive language against any driver during the race or at forum.

didnt break any rule
You want me to change that sentence so it looks like you did? That rule is just an overall view of the point. You got my point, now it's your turn to choose if you want to race or not. There will be no more warning, end of discussion.

Quote from Dmt :It is forbidden to use rude or offensive language against any driver during the race or at forum.

I didnt use rude of offensive language against somebody.
Rule 7.2. has been updated.

Quote from andRo. :7.2. It is forbidden to use rude and offensive language, be provocative or in any other way disrespect any of the drivers or countries at forums or servers.

Failing to obey the rule 7.2. during any event (qualification or race) or forums which have something to do with this league, can lead to ban for the whole season or even permanent ban for the league after organizers/admins decision. What is considered as provocative and offensive can be decided by league organizers.

You make rules on your own or you make them with other re-presenters aswell? lol
As you can read at the bottom of the post.
Quote :Rules were written by andRo.

But other representatives have agreed with all the rules that have been made so far. And as you can see, I notify about any rule change here, so if the other representatives have something against them, they are free to tell their opinion and they know it.
I don't have to send them each rule and each time ask if they agree or disagree with it. It's pointless and time taking, also, I haven't added any rules lately which should be talked through with other representatives, these rules are just common sense which should have been there already.
In case of yellow flag, can i make a overtake?
Quote from iBean :In case of yellow flag, can i make a overtake?

Sure, you can. It doesn't say that you can't overtake during yellow flag, it says to be cautious and if needed to be able to brake to avoid any incident.
