need for speed pro street resolution problems
Hi, i've bought NFS PS a long time ago, and now i'm using my HD TV(1360x768) the resolution won't go higher then 1280x720 in-game.

I know there is a resolution changer for V1.0, but i have V1.1 of the game so that will not work anymore

Any suggestions

yes, ditch it and go LFS

Will the extra 80x48 make that much difference?

1280x720 is 720p HD, 1366x768 is a non-standard res used for most 720p HDTVs as screens of this resolution are now common and cheap to produce.

Why not be happy with 720p HD instead of wanting those few extra pixels? :S
Because it's not at native res, as thus will be jagged and blurry?
That said, the game probably won't support it.
Yeah, it's really blurry, and it won't support 1280x720

And it was really good on 1360x768 with v1.0...
nice place to ask for it.

Don't tell me that your using the same resolution when playing LFS
try reverting to v1.0?
You can force the game to run at a certain resolution;

Right click the icon for the game
Properties
Add these 2 lines at the end of the target line
+szx 1360 +szy 768

BF2142 doesnt work with my resolution for instance, so I forced it too, this is what my target to MINE is set to;

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Change yours appropriatly to your game, anything else thats different in your icon make sure to leave in, simply add that at the end.

Yes it will make a huge difference because it is a non-native resolution on a digital display.

I'm pretty sure it's alot more then 80x48 pixels difference. You suck at calculating these things!

1360-1280=80

768-720=48

Where have I gone wrong?

Hm.. i edit the link, that good right?
the line looks like this:
"D:\Games\Need For Speed Pro Street\nfs.exe" +szx 1360 +szy 768

And it won't work

To get to a 1360x768 rectangle from a 1280x720 rectangle you have to add an 80x768 strip to the end and a 48x1280 strip to the bottom, a total of 126720 pixels.

Ah I see now. Well I got the straight line of pixels right, if that makes sense. I just didn't think about the other thousands of pixels.

Where have I gone wrong?

wouldnt it be 1360x80 + 768x48 - 48x48

because it would be the 2 edges of the screen minus the 48x48 because they overlap

so, alot more

if im completley wrong, im tired

edit: ajp, wouldnt that leave you with a 48x48 square of no pixles?

iirc thats a BF-series only command...
hm, im talking with the technical service of ea, not solved yet
Quote from Jakg :iirc thats a BF-series only command...

Ahh I see, it worked with C&C generals so I put the trend together and though it was in all the EA games.

If it worked on C&C Generals then it probably works on Pro-Street - it's just i've only ever heard that used in Battlefield.
well, i've spoken to the support...
Quote from EA's Technical support: :
Hello!

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Technical Support. I apologize for the trouble you're having with the game.

Unfortunately, this game is not tested to run with 1360 x 768 resolution. The game will only list resolutions that the video card can support while running the game. If 1360 x 768 is not listed in the game's video options, then it means that the video card will not be able to run the game properly with such high resolution.

I think it's weird, i've played on that resolution before, but i've installed Windows XP SP3, and now it won't work, so...
and the games runs really smooth, so i don't think my PC is having problems :|
bump, anyone an idea maybe?
