Not so much a bug as an annoyance.

If someone attaches a picture it opens in the same window. If someone hyperlinks a picture it opens in a new window. I've closed down the forum window numerous times today until I worked out what was confusing the situation

Perhaps the inclusion of target=_blank in the attached image code is a possibility?

Thanks guys.
can you please link to a post where a clicked image does _not_ open in a new window? Then I know which templates to edit
Happens with me too, its very annoying as i always close the window then.
They ALL open in separate windows here.
yeh they openned in the same window for me. tis weird
I opened an attached picture on that thread linked there. Opens in a window for me... always has for all vBulletin forums I've been on.
well it is something that needs to be manually added to the post-template, but i did that :P And yeah, here they all open in separate windows. I'll have a browse through the templates again though.

The pictures in this thread (first post) open in the same window here (ffox).

They do open in a new window, there's something wrong in your browser or you have Firefox in single window mode. See here how to create a new profile.

Hmmm, when i browse the source, i'm getting this:

<fieldset class="fieldset">
<legend>Attached Images</legend>
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="3" border="0">
<tr>
<td><img class="inlineimg" src="images/attach/jpg.gif" alt="File Type: jpg" width="16" height="16" border="0" style="vertical-align:baseline" /></td>
<td><a href="attachment.php?attachmentid=151">KIF_2753_resize.JPG</a> (153.1 KB, 265 views)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><img class="inlineimg" src="images/attach/jpg.gif" alt="File Type: jpg" width="16" height="16" border="0" style="vertical-align:baseline" /></td>
<td><a href="attachment.php?attachmentid=152">KIF_2754_resize.JPG</a> (166.7 KB, 260 views)</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><img class="inlineimg" src="images/attach/jpg.gif" alt="File Type: jpg" width="16" height="16" border="0" style="vertical-align:baseline" /></td>
<td><a href="attachment.php?attachmentid=153">KIF_2755_resize.JPG</a> (145.0 KB, 214 views)</td>
</tr>

</table>
</fieldset>

So no target="_blank" here :s. Layout seems different too.

Edit: when i set in my profile options "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" to checked, i do get that layout you quoted, and it does open in a new window (haden't changed that setting before though).
aha - then it should open in a new browser now (with your previous Show Images setting)

Yup
hmm... i always user the middle mouse button in my firefox, so the picture opens in a new tab, so i never experienced a problem like it was mentioned in the first post
