Just a tip, next time let the store you bought components from install everything for you. Or if you've bought it online, take it to a store or let someone who knows what he's doing install it for you. No offense intended.
Or i if you really want to do it on your own, study how to first, or ask around on the forum before you buy or install anything. Instead of asking while you're doing it and you ran into a problem. It'd save you alot of trouble.
Just saying.
i installed it right, i am quite sure, but it is slightly in-compatable i think

it was very easy

Painted my case, and cut a window...
Hey folks.

Just finished building my first rig for 7 years!! (when I say finished I mean its working but needs improvement )

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 3.2Ghz @ 3.5 (no extra cooling needed so far)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M720-US3
GPU: Saphire Ati Radeon HD 5770 1GB
Memory: 4x1gb corsair DDR2 1000
OS: Windows 7 ultimate 64bit
Hard drives: 2X30GB SSD Raid 1x500GB samsung 1x1.5TB samsung
Monitor: 19" widescreen cheap thing or the 50" plasma when the missus is out
Keyboard and mouse: Microsoft wireless crappy things
Case: Asus vento A8

Runs LFS at 300fps dropping to 175ish with a grid full of cars. Runs photoshop , solidworks and NX5 without breaking a sweat. Crysis runs with all the settings maxed out with no problems at all. All for just over £500. Bargain.

Won't post a photo till my G27 arrives as I am ashamed of the pos wheel I have atm.

You have got to get a better processor...an E8400 or something would be perfect.

AMD X2 6000+ 3.00ghz @ 3.3ghz stable -------> Now AMD Phenom 955 x4 @ 3.2ghz <--------
6GB DDR2 800mhz RAM 2x2gb and 2x1gb
Some random old HDD
750watt Corsair PSU
ATI Radeon HD 5850 GPU

.

Monster
Thinking the RAM is what is letting me down now though. Haha.. talking about caught in an upgrade loop.

I'd get a q9550 or something around that, if i were gonna go socket775 nowadays.
Quote from TheAdmiester :Thanks for the tip, but I think I'll just leave it for now.

As a reply to this conversation, I've noticed that the first screen of my BIOS mentions 447MHz, so I suppose that'll be the RAM. It's certainly not the CPU
Mhmm... I'd say that the processor is now the crappiest component (an E84 would do me good..) along with the HD (meh... i'll get some money and do some RAID0 =D) and the optical drive (I barely touch that thing now with LFS and CS all I play =D), and the case =P. Meh, it looks like crap, that it is giving me -25% driving performance HAHAH) I want a CM690 or a HAF 922 or something. My RAM is also a bit of a let down. Next upgrade?

TOTAL RIG OVERHAUL. ---> SSD RAID0 , and some 1366 system... and ofc, a sexy case with neon lights taking 25 amps on the 5V rail =DDDDDD

Lol... nvm... 447 running DDR would be 894 mhz effective... I think that is what it means...
Not really for LFS but still.

Originally had a Samsung NC10 netbook, which is great but a little on the small side. Saw a good deal on the Compaq 311c a little while ago and couldn't say no, though...

Standard specs:
Intel Atom N270,
1GB DDR3,
160GB HDD,
11.6",
nVidia ION LE (9400M),
Built in 3G (got an iPhone SIM with 12 months pre-loaded in there),
Blueooth,
XP Home.

Since then i've put in a new HDD (Seagate 5400.6 320GB) and some more RAM (has 2x RAM slots so now has 3GB of DDR3 in there). Also never even turned it on with XP and have put one of my (legit no less) keys of 7 Ultimate 32-bit on there. Also flashed the ION LE to the Full ION card and have removed the Wireless card whitelisting. Also removed (most) of the annoying stickers since the pic was taken (ION one wont come off though).

Next (and final) upgrade will be the Wireless card - will be junking the 54G / Bluetooth combo card and replacing it with a Wireless N model (most likely one of the Intel cards). Already have one from my NC10, but annoyingly it's half-height in the 311c versus full size in the NC10 so I can't swap 'em over...

Just got to get rid of the NC10 now...
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1,54 GHz
RAM: 896 MB DDR
GFX: ATi Radeon X1600 Pro 512 MB
Motherboard: Epox EP-8K5A(I)
PSU 400W Codegen
HDD: 40 GB Seagate Barracuda.

Outdated, i know :P
I know, my computer is just peace of shit and very poor laptop..

Processor:
AMD Sempron SI-40
Graphics Card: ATi Raden HD3200
Memory: 1 x 2GB
Hard Drive: 1 x 160GB
Monitor: LCD 15,4''
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit (FIN)

It isn't so bad.
