S2 ALPHA - Patch U
Hello Racers!

Announcing Patch U : A new official patch for S2 ALPHA

We are very pleased with the reaction to the S and T versions.
Various fixes and improvements have been done in the week since
version S was released. Thanks to all who tested and commented
on the test patches. Version U is quite an improvement and we expect
this to be the stable version for some time while we have a little

Version U is fully compatible with versions S and T.

FOX / FO8 / BF1 all have their own dashboard colour slider
Translations and docs folder updated with new translations
Throttle blip on downshift now allowed again with manual clutch
Suspension stronger before it bends but then bends more quickly

Crash to desktop
just installed and crashed after displaying the online server list

EDIT: seems random, sometimes does, sometimes not

Q: will i have incompatibilities if a stay with patch S?
Doesn't crash here Honey. What settings are you using to make it crash? And why is it you that always has these problems - I'd say something is seriously wrong with your PC, perhaps try reinstalling (perhaps a second OS) and see if these problems you have reoccur?
Thanks Scawen
Thank you very much!!!
非常感谢!!!

honestly (nothing personal with you tristan) i'm sick of this.
patch S never crashed, now patch U crash randomly crash and i reported, should i shut up?

made few tests and crash only occur if:
1- open lfs
2- display online list
3- i push 2 times the back button

the three steps make lfs crash 99% times if i do anything else different no problem til now, so if so it's not important, so for those interested i told how to reproduce the bug.

since everyone seems upset by me reporting problems or bug, i will not post anymore anytime soon so everyone will be more happy i will save my time...because as you say it's always my fault, not lfs'

remember occam's razor principle and think about it... >_>
Well Honey its not a LFS problem. I just did what you said and of course, everything worked just as always. I assume you already told your firewall program that lfs.exe is updated and needs a permission to access the net. Thats the only thing we need to do with every new patch.
Just tried that EXACTLY honey, and still no crash here. What filters are you running? How many servers can you see? Do you get a crash address, or does it just close.

I'm all for bugs being reported, but when one or two people are constantly having problems whilst the rest of the world doesn't it kind of implies it might be a PC problem not an LFS problem.

Edit: Have now done your three steps 4 times, each with different filters. It's not a reproducable bug at my end. Been doing it windowed.

works flawlessly on my end (tried a few times)

Martyrdom never helps, so I'd suggest taking some time to cool off and check if your pet hamster bit through cables or if a stray hummingbird is nesting inside your computer case. There are infinite number of things that might have gone wrong with your comp instead of LFS...

full screen or windowed mode?
Quote from csurdongulos :full screen or windowed mode?

hmmm goof point ... ried both neither of the two caused a crash there is a slight delay though after clicking back the second time maybe lfs doesnt recover from whatever it does there on some pcs

works perfectly here. where is the crash address you get? or the dr. watson logs? what filters you use? does reinstalling lfs fix it? how about windows? have you run prime95 or memtest? have you allowed lfs access to internet? can you play lfs online? what components and driver versions is your system made of?

See the problem? YOU should have answered to those questions on your own, just reporting you get a crash isn't very helpful, especially if everybody can't replicate it 100% of the time. besides all this should be in the bug forum.

Thanks Scawen!
Спасибо, Скавен! ^_^

the new patch set the window while connecting and that was causing the problem, i set it to "NO" and never crashed til now (10 test done).
but it only occurs for the 3 steps i indicated, if i switch to full screen to desktop and viceversa many times after i do something, everything is fine.

i think it has to do with some directx initializations.
