Graphics card issues, cant find much to fit my PC....

I have just recently bought another PC, its an hp compaq evo d510 sff, sff standing for small form factor, tiny narrow PC, which wouldnt be too much of a problem, i can notch the back of the case out to take a full height card if needbe, but, theres something else....

As this PC is only about 3 years old it does not have an AGP slot, and the bad news is it does not have a PCIe slot either, all it has is a tiny little black slot, (god knows what it is, see pic to see what i mean) and 2 old style PCI slots.

See at the moment, im stuck with onboard graphics, an "Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family" to be precise, which is, well, shite, and i was hoping to upgrade so i have something playable, as with this onboard shizzle, it simply aint.

However, im struggling to find a way of doing this, is there any kind of PCI to AGP adapter or something, or if not s there such a thing as a sensibly powerful PCI graphics card still made, something around the 256mb mark??

Heres a pic of what im faced with...

There are too many cars out there to choose...so I'll need a bit of help :shy:

When I updated my computer I bought everything but the graphic card. So I expect the new card to last equal or more than the processor.
Also, I think my limit is about 100€, maybe 120 as the maximum.

_I am looking for an ATI card._

My actual specs:

Processor........AMD Phenom II X3 720 @ 2,80GHz
Mother board...GIGABYTE MA790XT-UD4P AM3 790X
RAM.............. 4GB @ 1333MHz
Graphic card... ATI HD2600XT

I guess I'll need a new power suply aswell, but thats another matter hehe

Thx in advance :)

Yet another with what seems like an ATI GPU problem. But this time, a weird one.Wee.

Okay, first, the specs of the machine:
MBO: Asrock AM2XLI-ESATA2 (crap mobo I know, no need to tell me that)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64X2 6000+
RAM: 3GB Crucial
GPU: ATI Radeon 3850 512mb
PSU: Corsair VX450
OS: Windows XP SP3 (OHNOES HE USES AN OLD OS IT IS SUK BLA BLA USE WINDOWS 7 WEEE I AM A WALRUS AND I HAVE A SEXY MOUSTACHEZ YAAAAY - now that we got over the fact that the W7 is better os than XP, so can we carry on with the program please? Thanks.)

Now the problem:

When I power on the computer, it boots normally, everything is fine, but after 5 minutes or an hour it will frezze.

When it freezes, one of the following will happen:
1. Freeze. Image stays on the screen. LED's on my mouse and keyboard stay lit, have power, but the computer does not react. to keypressess or moving the mouse. Only reboot button helps.
2. Freeze. Image stays for a couple seconds with black screen afterwards. LED's on mouse unlit, keyboard lit, computer doesn't react to mouse movement or to keyboard.
3. Freeze. Black screen followed by BSOD that points to ati2dvag STOP error. Mouse and keyboard don't react.(DUH)

And now here's the funny part: When I reboot the computer after one fo these happen, it works normally until I shut it down, and when I mean normally I mean there are no errors in games, no artifacts in any game or other graphical glitches, no problems encoding video, no problems with temperature, not a single one. That is until I shutdown the computer, where upon the freezing cycle will repeat after powering it on the next day.

What I did so far: Reinstalled windows, memtested the ram, tried removing ram module by module, cleaned the computer throughly for dust, checked the capacitors for leaks, tried different versions of Catalysts, checked for viruses, tested the hard drives for errors, changed the sata cables, and now I am out of ideas.

So I'm asking you guys here, what do you guys think what it may be. I'm thinking GPU,(and that's whay I put this topic here) but I'm probably wrong.

Anyway thanks to anyone who atleast tries to help me out.

Now the 5750 beats the 250 in most games & is a better card imo.

But, & this is a big but, is it worth £20-25 more than the 250?

I've got a very unusual problem. First of all, I got an ati 3650 HD AGP graphics card for this computer because I wanted racedriver grid and modern warfare 2 to run on it. I got the ati2dvag.dll display driver stopped responding error every time I played grid after a while, although it didn't have any problems for the first week or so. After which, the computer would become completely unresponsive, or would turn down to EXTREMELY crummy resolution with huge icons and stuff and messed up colors (I assume the card turned off those times). I didn't own mw2 at the time. The first thing I did was to check the psu. The card needed 300w and was getting 250 so I guessed that was the problem and got a 500w psu, but that didn't help any. I tried all sorts of combinations of installing and uninstalling drivers but that didn't help. I uninstalled all symantec products. The device manager won't show anything, it's completely empty so I can't update everything I want to on the computer without spending $30 on some tool. Finally, at this point my bug is that every time I try to run mw2 or grid the screen for the computer will turn off but the game will still respond to controls. Even if I turn the moniter off and on again nothing happens. I haven't tried less graphics intensive games, but I can test them and tell you how they do if it would help. I'm kind of out of ideas.. :( This summer both my iPod touch and my computer broke, so I would very much appreciate your help.

Computer specs-

only mods are ati 3650 HD AGP graphics card and a 500w power supply

So if you send in an RMA, they'll send it back to you unfixed.

BFG Technologies Inc. is in the process of winding down and liquidating its business. Unfortunately, our major supplier would not support our business. As a result, we are returning your graphics card without being able to repair it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Personally, I liked BFG... When I was selling computer parts, I always held them in the highest regard, and recommended them over other companies like PowerColor, XFX and MSI... With their claim of a lifetime RMA (be it 25 years, or forever), it would have been stupid to buy from any other company with a 1 year warranty.

Shame indeed. :(

PSU: HEC cougar 700W
mobo: Asrock m3a785gm-LE/128M
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE unlocked to X4 B55
GPU: GeForce GTX 295
RAM: 2x2gb Team Elite 1333 ddr3 (dual channel)

I just had this system 3 weeks ago.. I'm sorry but I'm still a newbie here..

Here's my situation:
I've been playing World Of Warcraft set to high video settings and there are times that the screen would go black.. sometimes it freezes for a short time and then go black.. this happens often, with different time intervals. I tried lowering the video settings but it still freezes but now less frequently. I also updated the driver of GTX 295 with the latest driver and I also set the "single-gpu performance" in the nvidia control panel.. it helps a little.. but still the problem is there.

Now, my other games is experiencing that crashes also.. specifically Splinter Cell Conviction.. and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2...

Can someone help me pls? :(
