Hmm. Still says W38 in the main menu after patching to W39, but I guess that doesn't matter?

Scawen, is there going to be a mass joining party like there was last night?
traxxion

It includes a connection queueing system.
Could you please give some more info about the queueing system? Does it only work for full servers? Asking because I just had the "a player is disconnecting" message when trying to connect.
Oh and for me it also says W38 in the main screen.

OFFTOPIC:
Your CPU is just fine, your graphics is under middle class but you should be just fine for LSF and not beeing able to connect isn´t at all related to graphics or CPU .
Btw, as this rare CPU is the only Intel P4 CPU with FSB 533 and 512kb L2 cache with Hyper-Threading Technology you´d get a good price for it.

WHAT? I paid 120 Euro (< 200$) or so for my P4 3GHz HT (1MB L2 but only 400FSB) at appr. the same time^^ (and it runs fine at 3.46GHz)

Well try this:
Go to autocross and smash into one of the walls (that keep you inside the map). See how you hit it. and bounce off with damage? Thats how the barriers should react to cars.

MODERATION : Duplicate bug reports and repeated or irrelevant requests will be deleted.
We will keep the threads to the point by deleting any repeated or irrelevant information that we find. We will usually do this without any explanation. So if you have made a post and it mysteriously vanishes, that probably means that the information you reported was already written earlier in the thread, or maybe we decided that it did not contribute to the testing process. We will also delete feature requests that aren't compatible (physics or multiplayer) if we are testing a patch which is compatible with the current official version.

I dont want to be rude but Scawen, seriously learn some coding.. browsing through the Disassembler the whole thing was a mess, only the fact that everything is inside the exe is not correct.
1. Create a game architecture.
2. Don't stick everything togheter, use seperate DLL's.
3. Do not make so many updates, if you do than 1 big one.
I dont know from where you know the basics of 3D programming but i believe not from an company or any programming classes, because there you learn this whole thing different.

ciph - you surprise me. As I've learnt more about programming and starting working on driving games (including physics engines and vehicle modelling), I'm more impressed by what LFS has achieved, as I am hitting almost the exact same problems that Scawen must have solved long ago for LFS. As another professional programmer I thought you would have a similar viewpoint.
Also, although I'm not familiar with disassembling exes, I doubt that will really give you the full picture as to how Scawen organises and comments his code. And why the need for seperate dlls? To my knowledge, we don't use any at work, and our games as just as large scale.

If you had done a complex program, you would understand that test patches are needed. No-one can write code for a month or two and not end up with bugs and issues to be tested. Test patches are not released for the fun of it. If it was possible to just get everything right first time and not test it then of course we'd go straight to Patch Z.

Public Class Knob
'*** Bestist code in the world, by super me ***
Private Interface Functions
Sub Boast(ByRef Exagerate As Double)
Function Enlarge(ByVal Big as boolean) As Inch '*** Inch is a Single Byte object in measurements of One inch divided by 256
Function Insert(ByVal Enter as boolean) As Success '*** Primary Function, usually through the backdoor
Sub ExtendUsage(ByVal DoublePleasureTime as ThinkOfSonyaFromEastenders) '*** Adds 5 seconds to duration

No, that's what broken card memory looks like. It screws up your textures in repeating patterns, just like on your screenshot. Maybe it was only temporary screwed up due to overheating. Whatever you do, make sure your card is adequately cooled, or the next time this happens it might be permanent.

20th March 2008, 09:25
ok, well first of all the breathing holes for the fanes were facing towards the edge of my desk, so they wouldnt breath, so now ive moved it to the other side so its got lots of air.
Secondly, i opened up my computer and there was a dust bunny growing in there.
there was just so much dust, its was all cloged. i gave it a complete dusting and now its clean. i think it booted up quicker and feels smoother if you know what i mean, and its a hell of alot quieter, so i hope that should solve the problem :)

^No, the female drives is shorter therefore her hed sits further back, as per the picture that victor attached. Try chaning to female drive and you will see that the view is slightly different in most cars.
Negitave MIP should NOT be used in conjunction with AF. Thats all you need to say, and LFS already explains that when you click the "?" next to the MIP sliders.
:tilt:
lol ok did not notice that LFS explained anything about that, but i still guess some ppl may not have noticed the MIP sliders before, so it's still worth mentioning i guess.
Also it's just crap saying to not use it with AF, otherwise it's ok? That's just insane lol, it's never OK!, without AF quality is even worse, when i put on 32X AA and 16X AF the distortion of negative MIP-bias is somewhat less noticed. So I don't get the whole point actually. ppl need to know what it does for real, not to just be told "not to use when AF is turned on", that's no real information. Anyway, it bugged me when these settings turned to negative MIPS by default. That's absolutely disgusting and wrong. And when i read comments related to this and a person does not know what causes it or blames his videodrivers, I like to explain a bit more so these ppl will understand. Just by saying not to use AF in conjunction with it is not my style.
About female/male drivers position, could be that a female driver is positioned a little bit different, but it does not explain the big difference in view. That's just too big of a diff to just to be the position of a driver. Also the 'male' person is too much positioned forward, this can't be a Zero-Z with 125 FOV. So there obviously is more going on then just different driver posititions famale/male wise.

I noticed he also got the 'move view with animation option on' and he's steering slightly more in the 'female' screen. This makes the difference even bigger, I'm sure the difference wouldn't be so big when the steer would be centererd.

Yes, the shot was made when my team mate was steering but this didn't affect it much, try it yourself, switch to the female player model and you'll see the difference.

I am not sure whether this is LFS fault or Wine?
When I toggle between fullscreen in LFS (Shift + F4) it still stays windowed technically. And just switches between full and windowed inside the Wine window... Rather than properly.

You must disable WINE Desktop. Alt+F2, type "winecfg" and go to Display tab.

BTW, you might want to change Z16 to Z17 here:
ABS brakes have been added to 5 cars (as a setup option) so for now you cannot upload hotlaps made in Z16.

VOB mods aren't illegal. Publishing a downloadable link to the mods is against forum rules, but owning them and even publishing screenshots doesn't break any part of the EULA

1) When I post a message on this forum, I will do my very best to write in a polite manner and not use foul language and / or insult an individual or group of people.
2) I shall not post illegal software or post links to illegal software on this forum. Illegal software is software published without permission from the author or copyright owner.
3) I shall not post images, or links to images, which contain offensive content such as nudity, pornographic, racist or any other clearly offensive content such as excessive violence.
4) Any "mods" - modifications to the Live for Speed exe, must be discussed with a moderator before being released on the forum. If a mod is approved by a moderator, it may then be released in the appropriate section of the forum. Please do not contact a developer as we do not support mods and do not have the time to deal with them. Any mods which change the shape of a car model, or which allow online cheating or circumvent HLVC, will be rejected.
5) I realise that if I ignore this agreement, I risk being denied access to this forum.

I know, I was just being an arse. It's still funny, along the lines of a demo user asking for BF1 sets.
Anyway I feel I have slipped into the age-old habit of having a conversation in this thread rather than contributing so I will await further questions from Scawen or other input I can offer.
.....
yes yes, perhaps I was the only one that found it funny

Forget about it, it's not helping this thread. If the guy gets busted/reprimanded that's between him and the moderator that does it.
Dragging up various posts to support whether it should or should not be done in this thread is daft. Make a new thread in general discussion or something.
Scawen took it down anyway so it seems you can link offsite but cannot actually display the image directly within the forum. Case closed.

At your first post you say Note: this does not include: Bla bla, Rockingham, bla bla.
So that means there will be a Z testpatch with it?
But we gotta be s3 to test it?

First of all, You are correct its not the Right Selection on the Forum to ask.
Quick answere:
No,
Long Answere:
Like allways the New content will be tested by the Beta Testers. These people will help Scawen, Erik and Victor getting the bugs out of the new content.
The reason why these public Test patch Selection is here, becuase some parts needs to be tested on more different Systems (Computer System). Just too check or it is Compatible Hardware-wise or Software-wise.
Hope this makes sence:),
(Correct me if i am wrong:nod:, but i dont think i am:x)

Ummm.... :really:
It means that Rockingham, Scirocco and New Physics are not in this test patch.
That's all it means, so that's all I said. It doesn't mean any other things that you just imagine.
Please, this is the test patch thread, if you don't have something to report about Z18 then it's better not to post here. I've got a lot to do and prefer it when I don't have to be distracted and waste two minutes for no reason.

I stil love the way you made the shift inicator with al capital letters SHIFT uP (lol).
But scawen coudl u try this when u click on follow car of player blablba could you try to make it follow the car instandly.
And another one could u experiment witgh the current autocros layout ramp and make the same one but then a bit higher?
Becaus now when u jump and a car driver under you you'l touch the roof and it wil end in a pile up.
Could you make the ramp higher to prevent this from happening?
( sorry for posting it here but i thought since u read this thread often).
And somehow when i start the car up the car has no sound fo like 2 secs is this normal or are my ears decieving me?

E: Well, my old cfg still doesnt work.. it still flickers.
I think that nothings wrong with lfs itself, its just the cfg files. So, If you just include a blank cfg with the next patches them I'm sure that everybody has to change their options back to what they want, but wont have any problems with it
