Sorry for posting this so late, I was hoping we'd make it.

Ok quick rules for this event pls everyone READ THEM

1 - chating tolerence is ZERO even the smalest ":)" or "hi" will be penalised with a DT, the only ppl who can chat are the marshals and the ppl who say the "player join" message to theire team mates but these teams must first anounce that they are gona do this

2 - Cuting the yellow line on pit exit will be penalised with a DT penalty do not touch the yellow line.

*DT = Drive through penalty

I will have the results of the qual tomrow mornin cause now i really need to go to sleed have to go to work in 6 hours  goodbye

Misko
15th July 2006, 20:52
3 - In the chicanes keep at least 1 wheel on the black stuff or u will be penalised with a DTHm, so now we have to learn to drive that chicane again, 16 hours before the race. It will be stressful having to be careful about going 1cm wider on every lap since the penalty can loose us the race. And what if we do it by mistake? That one is not an easy corner to get it right. It would be very difficult for you to watch every driver on every lap for that and make quick judgements for each of the thousand and more cases (~70 laps times 16 cars). It's ridiculous!

Besides, cutting that chicane too much already penalizes us. In 1 hour long stint damage to suspension if cutting builds up quite a lot.

You really should've posted this rule earlier and think it through more thoroughly before making it.

prophet.est
15th July 2006, 20:54
I totally agree with Miško. I suggest we'd drop that rule..

Vain
15th July 2006, 21:12
I guess everyone already tries to evade the yellow-blue obstacles. So the rule should read "keep your wheels off the yellow-blue obstacles, repeated or deliberate violation of this rule will lead to a DT". That would be good to penalize cutters.

Also, and more importantly, running one wheel on the tarmac and one wheel on the curb will be extremely dangerous for XFRs. The car flips in 30-40% of all cases where you try that. Forcing the drivers to go that line will propably cause major pile-ups. So either both tyres on the curbs or no tyres on the curbs. Any regulation in between will cause havok.

Vain

B11TME
15th July 2006, 21:51
I think most will be avoiding cutting them anyway as it causes damage to the car.....I was going to do a 50 lap test run and those little bumps on the chicane damaged my car on the 18th laps and my suspension was damaged and car was undrivable. I think it would be unfair to start brining this rule into the race as its not doing the drivers any favours.

Darkone55
15th July 2006, 22:19
I think the rule should allow each driver to make 1 error. But, Misko, everyone needs to learn to drive it again then, so it's the same for everyone.

Vain
15th July 2006, 22:25
But learning it new creates errors. Flips. Havok.

I'd like to finish the race.

Vain

Misko
16th July 2006, 00:56
Well, we're already driving around the yellow-blue speedbumps to avoid damage, and if we miss few times and actually go over them we get a little damage but its still ok. We pay the price when car doesn't behave perfectly anymore and we get longer pitstop to repair that. So I don't think we need any more worries than that. Rule #3 means we have to worry about keeping wheels on the tarmac and fear how Scoop will interprete that (and also fear not to roll over like Vain said, though I haven't experienced that in that chicane in UFR).

traxxion
16th July 2006, 01:18
I agree on the weird chicane rule. I'm sure no-one comes out unharmed if he does it wrong more then two times... been there before, myself.

Anyway, unfortunately we'll also have to withdraw our XFR team due to lack of drivers. Again, good luck in the race everyone.

Scoop
16th July 2006, 07:14
as far as i can read u all say cuting the chicanes damages youre suspension and you are not gona do it in race, so what's the probleme with the rule?:really:

And to make it clear a penalty will be isued if we see a driver constantly cuting the chicanes and gaining advantages, those who go over the speed bumps by mistake will be let off of course

B11TME
16th July 2006, 08:58
The problem with the rule is if we make a mistake and end op doing it then you get a dt for it.

Rumiko

He just said he wont penalize mistakes, only intentional systematic cutting.

He just said he wont penalize mistakes, only intentional systematic cutting.

My point is how is he going to know if it was a mistake or not? If i do it 10 time in my stint how many drive throughs do i get for that lol.

#1 Race has been postponed for 2 hours (race starts at 16:00 CEST) so that ppl can watch F1

#2 B11TME if u do it by mistake i can see it late braking sliding a bit if u do it on pourpose lap after lap then u're gona get a DT

B11TME

the corner is hard to judge...If i run wide i get a dt. Heh i think thats a little stupid.

It seams that some ppl just don't get the chicane cuting rule and i'm tired of explaining so i'm removing it u can cut all u like

Misko
16th July 2006, 11:10
What I'm saying is the curbs that are usually used as part of the track, like in this case. We drive with 4 wheels on the curb and NOT hit the speedbump. By your deffinition that still means cutting.

Scoop
16th July 2006, 11:14
just do what ever u want on those curbs now let's move on any other questions?

Great race everyone! :)

I'm glad my teammate managed to join on time so we won't recieve a penalty. :tilt:

But on a different matter: Was the "don't cut the pit-exit line from neither side"-rule also removed or was it still in effect?

I had a few complaints about some ppl crossing the yellow line on pit exit and after reviewing them i thought it wasn't necesary to penalise and even with a 30 sec penalty the final result would have been the same. But thanks for youre vigilance
