To keep this simple:

I have a setup for a given track/car combo. For qual, I use certain tyre pressures, for race different ones. Obviously I can't remember all the different ones (for all cars/tracks) so I end up creating twice as many setups (qual+race). The only difference between them is the tyre pressures.

Suggestion:

Having one more tag in the garage menu. Notepad or something like that. A space where I could simply write : "qual 257 kPA, race 294 kPA". Or different notes for that matter.

What do you think?

why not Shift+f4 and open notepad

Hm. I'd have a .txt file with 828 different combos (I think that's how many there are ATM). I think you can see that it'd be a bit ... unconvienient (I mean finding anything in there).

Yeah, I agree with szyszek, sometimes you must change one thing in your setup and you can`t remember what value it had. It`d be nice to have an 'built-in' notepad in LFS with different tabs ... eg. for all notes, for notes that are only for chosen setup etc.

Notepad, ok but built in option inside LFS would be much more easier.
szyszek, good one mate.

If the tracks/cars are sectioned [blackwood]...[FO8], then LFS itself can automatically filter out the notes for that car/track combination (or perhaps show the track one all the time, and filter the car one).

Something like this was already suggested at RSC ("signatures in setups" or something like that)

Oopsie, I must've missed that. BUT, that only prooves that more people feel the same way.

Yeah, this is really essential. With S1, the car didnt change, so you only really needed one fast setup for each config. Now we have to constantly change things, and also remember how each setup performed for things like tyre wear etc.
I'd also like the setup format including a field for the best lap you've driven while using it.

Now I like that idea! I often forget what setup I drove my pb in.

I think its a great idea.
It's a mess to window the game just for typing some notes.
Not only for a signature about the setup , we can also have a good bunch of notes about how we made the decissions, where to improve ... etc.
Particularly useful for teams ellaborating setups for competitions ...
Of course , these notes should go within the .set file
