For those who are licensed, I'd like to ask how does this car feel compared to the F-V8?

Also, could someone please post any onboard video and some pictures of the cockpit of the car?

Thanks. :thumb:

simple to drive, its actually really easy (well.. its easy for me to drive the FV8, but for most people, the formula1 is much easier than FV8)

found a video of doing a lap at BL on google video:

Its relatively easy to drive due to the traction control, progressive power delivery (F1 cars are only 2.4L now) and ample downforce at speed.

However, due to the rate that everything happens its pretty hectic :)
You can still take a sip from your mug of Coffee down the Blackwood straight, but most of the time its eyes peeled and hanging on for dear life.

oh.. ya.. when i mean easy, i mean theres grip, but as Stay pointed out.. its easy to go around turns fast and whatnot, but get one wheel into the grass and.. well.. hold on for life and try to get it back, because once you get 2 wheels into the grass at speed.. you have a slim chance of making it back onto the track lol

yeah the google video is me doing a 55 second lap :p. i just made it real quick to show a friend what the car looked like.

the car is easy to drive. whats hard is trying to go fast enough to win without smashing into a wall or spinning out:)

Its an incredibly easy car to drive, even at the limit. Probably the easiest car to drive in the game once oyur used to the power and brakes.

Me around Blackwood:

It is an amazing thing to drive.. quite exhilarating. I personally don't think it suits a short track at all. This thing is built for Westhills, AS GTs, Kyoto GPs and Fern Bay Blacks. While I think it's fun to get under a minute on Blackwood - mostly because the world record before was just OVER a minute, in the Formula V8 - the BMW is made for something on a much grander scale, IMO.

http://www.ukct.net/dlfiles/bmw.wmv <-- this is a video I put together, just for you :D of the BMW at Kyoto Grand Prix Long. This is my favourite track, in the BMW.

If you're thinking about buying an S2 licence, there are a whole bunch of reasons to get on and do it. The BMW Sauber is one reason, and IMO it's a really GOOD reason.

Oooer! I missed that! Interesting point!:really:

(I wonder if we'll get the usual response, or whether Armchair is gonna go out on a limb with a more adventurous, creative response)

I personally think its too easy to drive, if you lose control slightly TC makes shure you dont spin much so i think it takes some skill away, you see too many people just powersliding corners a bit

The FO8 is like driving a wheelbarrow down a hill. uncontrolable. The BF1, however, is like driving a wheel barrow with 4 wheels, a steering wheel and a massive V8

hardly say the fo8 is uncontrolable and since patch its easier than ever

You know, you CAN turn TC off don't you?

Turn off TC with "o" as default... pop those rear tyres in no time!

The FO8 is pretty sweet to drive now, must put in some more hours behind the wheel of it now.

the whole point of lfs is its a sim

f1 cars have tc and the drivers use it to allow them to run a slight powerslide, the better one allow the tc to cut in at higher slip figures

same in lfs, the higher the slip figure, the faster the car is if you can drive it, if your car control is good enough to drive it without the tc cutting in at 3.5 % then you'll be faster then the driver that makes the tc do all the work :)

The F08 is now almost as easy to drive as a Fox used to be, and probably my new favourite car, since for me the BF1 is just too quick, yeah ok so it's a blast on a long swooping circuit, but I see soooo many people going at it far too hard and using the traction control and the crazy brakes to dig themselves out of the resulting hole :- you can't really do that with an F08, if you get it wrong it still bites you.

Now I need an advice how to make tyres last more than 4 laps on BL1. Doing 54-55s laps melts tyres and that sucks :schwitz:

Using R3. R2 has better grip but last less than 2 laps and R4 sucks as they they don't have grip at all...

Thank you, people, for the comments and the videos. Yes, everything seems to be so fast with the car that I wonder if people can race with it online without crashing each other.

Actually, would you say the BMW became the most fun car to drive online?

edit:
Have you tried the FO8?

Yes, I have. And I did not try it in a friend's house, don't worry. I played the game in a house of a relative of mine some months ago. You won't believe either and I don't care anyway. I just think some people should stop thinking any demo racer that comes here asking about the game are crackers and liars. Very unpolite. I play GT Legends, GTR and WW2 online and I'm not a cracker. My interest for lfs is growing and now with the inclusion of a F-1 it looks a more exciting game to me. But I'd like to know if it was a F-1 car or just a faster F08 with different cockpit. That's why I asked people to compare it.

You asked how the BF1 was compared to the FO8. Since you are apparently a demo user I simply wondered if you had actually tried the FO8 so that you would have a point of comparison in the first place. I neither called you a cracker or a liar and did not insinuate either, in any case.

I prefer the FO8 myself, it has much more feedback on what its doing than the BF1, and actually bites back at you if you make a mistake, whereas the BF1's traction control cuts in, ruining the experience. With the TC turned OFF on the BF1, the car becomes near-on impossible to drive. That said, i do like both cars, just prefer the FO8 over the BF1 :)
