Hi,
I have real problems trying to join multiplayer games, 90% of the time it wont let me in one, then if it does it kicks me in a few minutes.
Anyone know what it could be?
Thanks.

Hey m8, can you give us some info? What are your PC spec? What connection do you have? Are you using any background programmes that can take some bandwidth for themself?

Try this
Start>Run>type CMD
then type: ping www.liveforspeed.net
You will get some info about your connection latency. If you dont understand to the info, take the screenshot and post it here.
How do you mean "I am on network"? Do you have something like a LAN? Are you connected via LAN?
Aslo try to check this, http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=7432

Are you booted from the server with a message like "CPW" in the top left?

Your ping looks good and there are on packet losses. Good news.
Download the latest LFS patch(the U version) if you dont have it. Is your PC behind a NAT or something? How is your PC connected to the internet? Directly via modem/anything like it or via LAN?

My computer is on a LAN network, so i guess it gets the internet through that.
I dont have to connect or anything, its straight on...
Whats an NAT?

NAT = Network Address Translation, which is possibly a little out of the scope of this thread (for the moment).
Do you happen to know who provides your internet access (via your LAN), and whether theres any internal firewalling?

Im with Talk Talk, the firewall i have is just the standard windows XP one.
*It works fine late at night :S ??

BINGO!
guess who I am with?...............TALKTALK
their service has gone bananas recently due to them releasing their 'FREE' broadband service. this means their network is now totally overloaded, resulting in MAJOR packet(data) loss.
i have exactly the same symptoms as you. i can surf all i want and the internet works perfectly in general, but when i play LFS or try streaming data the packet loss totally knackers things.
as with yourself, i can only play LFS at very late hours, i.e. when everyone else is in bed and the service/network is no longer being hammered.
google for 'ping plotter' and use it to view the packet losses to any website. packet losses are in the PL column. see my attachment....
to be honest, i cannot see any quick fix to this other than changing ISP. other than heckling them over the phone into doing some upgrading (which will take ages) there is not much you can do, other than wait for the service to improve :(

Thats what i was thinking, that the service is now totaly overloaded.
Im upgrading to 8MB broadband soon, maybe that will make it better?

I doubt it, it will still be using the same network :(
You have probably noticed that your download rate has not really been affected by this data loss, so upgrading to 8Mb will still give you plenty speed. However, the packet loss will still be the same so I dont think switching to 8Mb will make any difference really. Unless higher DL speeds can compensate for packet loss???......I doubt it.
Like I said, your best bet is a totally different ISP who doest jump on the bandwagon and totally over subscribe their network. I am looking at PIPEX at the moment, but somehow I dont think I will be changing anytime soon. Most likely I will be sitting out of LFS for a while, and getting in the odd late-night racing session.

CPW is the cheat protection in LFS now. You may need to upgrade to the new patch. To do this you just need to download and extract the patch over the top of your current LFS.
