How to modify cockpit view

I am using full-screen view and would like to move the RPM guage and my digital speed meter to the bottom/center of the screen. I also want to remove the steering bar that tells you where you wheels are pointing. Any suggestions?

Press N a few times, though that way the client list will be a bit annoyingly on the way when playing multiplayer with many clients.
