I have 1.6 intel pentiem 512mb hyper threading ati radeon 9600 128mb and I always get low fps. i turn down all the graphics and still the same frames. I got ati catalyst drivers version 1.2 xxxxxx. I played befor on my old card with around 9 fps and it was playable but now with 20 its not playable theres lots of big chops in the frames. what can i do to get it higher?

Download the latest drivers (6.4 I think), and start saving up for a new CPU (which will probably mean new motherboard, ram, maybe case, psu.

I agree with tristan, I would suggest buying a Dell for $400USD (3Ghz) and putting your old GPU, get 1gig of RAM, You will get atleast 50fps with that

Your CPU should do more than 20fps, especially when you are alone.
1) DONT!!! enable simple track - it slows the game down like a hell
2) Be sure you have HVS enabled
3) Terminate ALL unnecessary background processes when playing
4) Get the latest patch
5) Try to save some money for a better CPU :D

Also check if you have on VSync in LFS or your stand alone graphics settings. That'll put a limit on your fps extremely. But like everyone else has said, 20 on that system is still real low, I would at least expect around 40-50 fps. Try upgrading the drivers and also check for vsync in the lfs options and in the graphics cards control panel.

Vsync limits the FPS to monitors refresh rate and i don't know of any screens that can run at 20 Hz. Especialy not CRTs.
