Thanks so much for writing Live For Speed. We had huge fun inviting hundreds of people to play it at this year's EuroGamer Expo in London but using head-tracker and eye-gaze technology. You can see more here:

It was a hugely popular game, and stood up very well against Dirt and F1 on the PS3 and Forza 3 on the Xbox 360 which we also used.

We'd love for the following improvements to be made...

1. A quick "Pure Mouse Driving" controller option. This will open up LFS more easily for those relying upon head-tracker and eye-gaze control to play your game. We have posted this to help people mean-while: http://www.gamebase.info/magazine/read/electronic-soup-podcast-eurogamer-2010_376.html - But it's far from easy for those who don't get to see this.

2. The version we used, had an issue with the automatic gearbox. We had to press the left-mouse click to activate it each race, and also found that when the car crashed, it would stay in a high gear, so you'd either pootle slowly around until you built up speed - or have to reset the game.

Thanks again for writing such a great game. Here's hoping that you'll consider these accessibility improvements.

Its not an button to "activate" the automatic gearbox, you are putting into 1st gear to the car drive.

The mouse driving option is also there, you just have to assign the gas to the mouse axis, and tada, you have your pure mouse driving.

@AccessibleGameBase:

Did you even look over the options in the menu or even the LFS wiki page? If you did you would find all of what you suggested can be changed to suit specific needs.
Also you had to click a button to make it work? No you had to select first before you go anywhere even with automatic.
And again yes when you crash your gears will stay in whatever gear you selected untill you either let go of the throttle or manually change down gears yourself.

And thats pretty much how it would be in real life too. I wouldnt imagine myself crashing a car in real life and then see how it automatically pops back into 1st or neutral. :D

Pretty sure he just means that there were basically just as many people playing LFS as the other games.

Also, with the crashing problem, if they were in automatic, wouldn't it automatically shift down normally? I can understand the upshift at the start of a race, but after a crash shouldn't it automatically downshift? Just wondering.

Not sure. Maybe if you buy a automatic car and crash it then you could report it to us.:D
But in lfs it doesnt.
