Argh...WTF is going on with my LFS S2 license? I bought the license ~6 months ago and everything worked fine but I stopped playing teh game after about a month of use. I decided to reinstall LFS S2 so i downloaded version T and installed teh game onto my hard drive. However, when I tried to unlock the full S2 version I get the error message somefink like..."your gamepassword must be at least 8 characters." btw...my old gamepassword is 7-characters and I had no problems unlocking the game.
Next, I went to teh LFS net site to confirm I had a license and an account...and everyting checked out A-OK (account is there and says I am a S2 licensed racer, the license status says I have 3 unlocks).
I decide to try and create a new 8-character password so I click on the Accounts Detail. The text on top says, "here you can view and modify your accounts details." So I think this will be easy...I can just modify my account details to include a 8-character password. However, whenever I try to enter a new 8-character password and hit the <update accounts details> button at the bottom I get a message saying, "NO CHANGES WERE MADE TO YOUR ACCOUNT." Therefore, I am unable to modify my account details in order to create an 8-character gamepassword to unlock the S2 T game.

There are no detailed directions on how to change/edit/create a gamepassword...so maybe I'm doing this incorrectly (if so, please fix this!). Does anyone know how to change/modify/edit your gamepassword?
the accounts screen info only says the following:
If you want, you can enter a new GAMEpassword here (for in-game usage and unlocking LFS S2 on your computer. Must at least have 8 characters):
New GAMEpassword
Re-type the new GAMEpassword
I type in my new gamepassword and hit the <update account details> button, but get the message, "NO CHANGES WERE MADE TO YOUR ACCOUNT."

I think you should mail to LFS devs or send PM to Scawen, I'm sure your problem will get solved quite quickly when they wake up at morning :)

Ok, I'll send a copy of my complaint to the LFS developers. Thanks.

OK, I solved the problem! Believe it or not I had to randomly change some other information of my account details! That is, I could not change my gamepassword information alone. I also had to change some optional information!
This should be fixed LFS so the user can change just their gamepassword information without the NECESSITY to have to change other information.
Thanks! keep up the good work.

Seeing that you joined back in July of 2005 for S2 (yeah?), I think that might have been the time where if people hadn't gone into their account to set the new GAMEpassword, people would have this issue.
Before, there was just one password that worked both on the WEB and in the GAME. But there was a switch which allowed people to use a WEBpassword, and then a GAMEpassword (which is used for unlocking). I think some users were unable to unlock the game because they did not have a GAMEpassword set after the "switch".
So I guess what I am saying is, the users whom registered before this required switch/update for the main account, they never updated their info and probably find trouble when coming back because they have not set a GAMEpassword to properly unlock it.
I mean... has it been nearly a year since you tried the game?

No, It has been ~4 to 5 months since I had fired up LFS.
The most confusing aspect is that I was unable to create/edit/modify a new gamepassword by itself! I finally stumbled on the idea of modifying some optional data at the same time and edit/modification to my gamepassword worked! very strange! LFS, please fix this.
thanks!

I'm getting problems trying to update account info - it says I have an invalid email adress. Address is the same as it was when I registered. Only problem I could see is that it does not like having an underscore right before the '@' sign, but it still let me register with that email.

Sounds like there are some problems with the webform validation.
