There been some talk about that, some time back. The devs has said themself that before S2 will lose it's alpha tag, the Westill update (aswell as the other stuff) needs to be done.

What this update means, nobody knows :)

Some rumors are that the big patch that will come, will make LFS into Beta stage. By Beta it means that everything in the version / game is implented, but the things inside the game might need tweaking in fixing. Often it's just bugs that prevents a game from going from Beta to final, therfor we can belive that the time from Beta-final is less than Alpha-Beta.

I hope for some updates in nearest future, but who knows what happens :)

* Barriers
* Car classes are by FAR unbalanced
* Shadow / track bugs, nasty one
* Westhill update
* Cockpit updates (I use chase cam, but understand people are frustrated about this)
* The physics, not only the tyre physics here but overall
* The autocross needs more tweaking before final I think, ice ramps and other stuff makes it kind of not done yet
* AI and their problems
* Limited setup feature, stability controll and such
* Turbo lag in this game is by far too slow atm
* Some clutch changes, it's kind og unreal atm. Thinking about the heating

Just add me from the LFSForum profile I got, and we speak someday. I must admit that I am not too active on it, but lately I can be found on the evenings on msn :)

Well Westhill will get an update, but we do not know what this update might be. It could be a rallycross track, it could be other road sections, it could basically be a total facelift of the whole track... but nobody knows :D
I am really looking forward to know more about this when it's ready.

Personally I would be a little unpleased with a mere little update to the track :) What needs to be done is to make the scenery resemble a mountain / hilly setting, rather than just the flat borring scenery we have now, IMO :) The track itself is O.K enough, but with too little elevation changes to justify it's name.

No. Actually they weren't.

Yes. 0.5 came out, which marked the availability of S2 content. but S1 users got all the same physics changes, and heck.. they've even gotten another car in the 0.5 stage (FBM).

The version changed.. 0.3 to 0.5.. so the engine did. Content did not. Theoretically they could have released "S2" in the 0.3 build.. and then released the new 0.5 engine.
