see attached image, is it ment to be like this at the start of a race? all the cars are very low res, and my driver's hands disappear, it's actually very off putting, i come up to the first corner and the cars start drawing properly it catches my eye so i'm not concentrating as much on the corner. after the first lap everyone is drawn fine
i have all the LOD set as high as they will go, is this a problem with the game or a problem with my settings?
i have AMD XP3200+, 1024MB PC3200DDR RAM, Radeon 9800XT 256mb
thanks for any help,
Chris

Again the ATI Radeon... :( This game does not seem to be cooperating well with that card.

You're still lucky that your game does not freeze often.

I think you want the LOD setting to be as low as it will go for best quality car models.

thats your dynamic LOD setting is what is causing it, go to options-misc
and lower your dynamic LOD down to low, but imo.. with 42 fps at that, i doubt you would enjoy the starts of races at 20 fps
dynamic works unlike the others obviously.. because its dynamic, the more polys you have on the screen, it will utilize that amount by using LOD to lower the amount of polys and keep your FPS stable

With his system he should be able to play with the best LOD setting.

im usually at 70fps, i guess it was low there cos i had media player and msn running in the background along with a few other things (usually they are closed)
