I hate the new patch

This is the worst thing that could have happened to LFS imho. I have been playing for nearly 3 years now, and I've made a lot of friends and aquaintances through it (not that anyone would admit to it). It's been a pleasure to click on Connect every day or so and meet, virtually, all these people, find out about them and drive some fast cars on or near the limit, or beyond.

This new patch has RUINED that. RUINED I tell you. Because now I don't chat. I don't find out interesting things about my fellow racers. I just get in a car, stare at the screen, and drive. No time for chatting, as that's wasting valuable driving time. No time for smileys on the back straight anymore (especially in BF1) because I'm now concentrating 2 corners ahead on exactly where on the exit kerb I'm gonna put the car and at what angle.

Next Scawen will remove the chat feature altogether, but I think it would be more worthwhile if the driving feature was removed. And it was renamed Live for Gossip. I'm gonna wear out my Momo, and my ECCI's, and I'm gonna be a lonely little Tristan on the track surrounded by 19 other silent individuals.

DAMN THE DEVS. DAMN THEM TO BLACKWOOD AND BACK, ALONG WITH THE BETATESTERS! (for being amazingly brilliant)

i know how you feel lol i was talking to someone while in the formula.. was a tad hard, now all we need is something like teamspeak or something that connects through the servers so you can talk to the people through that specific server when you join it ;) (HINT HINT)

True that. I didn't think I'd like it that much. But damn man. I was driving for so long that I had to stop because my bottom went numb (not that you'd want to know, but I can't sit down now because of which. I need a new chair). The car just oh my god. You trow it around a corner at stupid miles per hour, and it sticks. Then you quickly throw it back the other way, and it's still stuck. OMFG! So much fun.

the thing is, even with TS to chat away, when im in the BF1, gunning it at 160+ halfway down the bl straight, i cant hear anyone anyway, cause of the wind blast. so.. get rid of all the cars, but if you do leave any, make them battery operated.

don't worry there is a cure for this... it's called the UF1

plenty of time to chat on striaghts to fellow racers while still racing around a track! also great fun to drive! :)

just take the UF1 out for a race or 2 after every half hour of driving the BF1, this should help cure your problem, when you find that you have the adequate amount of chatting to fellow racers just lower the dosage to an hour of BF1 followed by UF1. this should help ease you into not chatting with other races while in the BF1, eventually it will seem normal that you aren't chatting to other racers when in the BF1 but instead every once in a while use the UF1 to make youself feel better......

i see this pain... espacially in our sauber(it's TOOOO fast). It's kinda hard to do smilies and use a joystick...espacially since i'm a lefty.When i try to get a smile i end up getting the pit boaard or the limiter turns on.:)

Ya rly, instead of losing the back end on most of the RWDs, I actually managed to control the drift somewhat with the throttle. I'm the ultimate cannot-drift racer, but if I can hold a small slide, and do it again, I could see how it's become easier.

Ya rly, instead of losing the back end on most of the RWDs, I actually managed to control the drift somewhat with the throttle. I'm the ultimate cannot-drift racer, but if I can hold a small slide, and do it again, I could see how it's become easier.


Maybe you've just become a better driver, and now the physics are a bit more in touch with reality you can actually drive the car at the limits of its capabilities. Before the patch you had to be really careful when cornering the RWD's especially exiting from an apex and applying the throttle, the car would just snap without warning. Now when your pushing too far the car lets you know and you can adjust accordingly.

If you watch this caterham video you'll see just how far you can push these things, imagine trying to do this in the LFS car park with the old physics :D

I'm lovin' it. Had some proper races in the BF1 earlier, and it's awesomely awesome, in Awesomeville on national Awesome day when you've been chatting to someone called awesome about awesome things. I love it.
It's NOT perfect, it's NOT finished and there are a few things that still annoy me. But one small step for Scawen, one giant leap for LiveforSpeed (might have printed on a T-Shirt :S)

Hopefully it'll calm down soon, and we can all go about getting a good mix of racing (except the ovalers) on lots of servers in lots of cars. I'm trying as many as I can, but there's so many combos. Still haven't taken the BF1 around Eau Rouge the right way, nor had a fling with GTR's at KY National etc etc. And for nearly 8 hours I had a world record (damn Renku).
