Can't click on Autocross tracks?

I am going to sound like a total n00b here but I used to use the skid pan a lot but haven't used it for a while and have just discovered that it is shaded and unclickable. What's going on?

Use single player instead hot lapping mode.

You are probably using a layout with one starting position then.
