leagues and subsections

Leagues can get a subsection here if they apply for one with me (post in this thread).
The league does have to be up and running already (ie. not in planning stage) and you need to have a place where people can find information about the league (a website). But don't let these two requirements dictate your maximum effort of course - a league will only work if it's well organised and maintained. You'll need more than just a league section and a website with rules. Running a league is not easy!

One way of doing this would be to have one sub section for inactive leagues. All inactive or ended leagues could be just moved there when it looks that the section won't be active in next months.

Is it possible to add a subforum for the VRL (Vlaamse Racing League)?

target: dutch speaking simracers (mostly belgians, although we have a few dutch people in our mids)
lfs league: variety of cars/tracks
VRL started with GPL, but since 2 years runs LFS and since this year an rFactor league. The VRL community is very varied: old guys (40-60) with kids, to students barely 20 years old.
Requirement to join: speak dutch (read and write at least :p), drive clean. No filtering on slow drivers.

yeah i'm afraid i let the one requirement for a subsection too loose again - you need to have an established league to get a subsection (see OP).

As such, your wednesday oval has been put inactive but i did not add a bangers section. One thread doesn't make an established league I'm afraid.

Superior Master Series has been running locally in Denmark for a year under one of VCS´s arrangements. VCS has now changed and became Unity-racing.com, so Unity-racing.com is now the arrangeur.

Now after it has shown up to be succesfull in Denmark, we would like it to be an open international seria for all countries. Therefore we would like a forum here, if it´s possible.

i've done your first request and then I moved the LFS Drift Cup to the inactive section. The website url it has linked is a joke, and noone seems to participate anyway.

Your request for a new subforum is denied. You need to have a running league. I'm a bit tired of everybody asking for a subforum even before they know what they're doing with it. Running a league isn't something you setup in 5 minutes. I needs a lot of thought and planning and organising skills.

ok i have alot sorted now:
it will be 10 events and one fun/party finale event, they will be using the uf1/ restricted xfg, it will invole longish races an overall champ along with: an overall team, uf1,xfg,team uf1, team xfg champs and a series of awards like cleeanest driver and drivers choice(best driver picked by other drivers), it will be open to people with s2, and it will be stewarded by a team of people, it will be called WTF! League, with WTF standing for way too fun, it will be stewarded to keep racing clean but will not be harsh, as it is all about doing stuff(combos) that are unusual.
also wtf is a bit of a pun as at first glance people will look at the combos and be like wtf as they will be very counter intuative(sp) but fun, i will not be the only person running it and all those who helped will get recognision in both the ts breifing and a credits thread, it will be run similar to a real race but unlike many leauges like this will not be uber strict but will cater for people who are serious and those who are there for a bit of a laugh

The LFS Beginner's Cup is in it's planning stages here (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=651370)but we've got a server from Dynamic Racing and already lots of interest. The Cup is for anyone who considers themsleves a Beginner, whether that be in LFS or to League Racing, and want to take part. Theis'll be one series where the motto 'It's not the winning, It's the taking part' will be paramount.

The Multi-Make Challenge is a series that will hopefully be happening in Summer 2008, and I don't want to release too many details yet. If I can add this sub-forum at a later date the I'll do it then.

We have a website (sort of!) at http://new-dimension-racing.bravehost.com/ which, in conjuction with this forum, will be used to run the series. I'm sending a piece off to Sim Racing Tonight (http://www.simracingtonight.com) to advertise the series and Dekojester (http://www.lfsforum.net/member.php?u=122006) has agreed to do some videos/broadcasting (pending his purchase of S2!). I hope to send the results to SRT for their 'This week in Sim Racing' programme.

1) The Section called LFS: GTR League has recently been activated as live again but our new Skill League System allows us to run multiple leagues at one time

We have 3 running at the moment so the LFS GTR League title is no longer correct

Can you either change the title of the section to

You need to have something concrete first and it looks like you are currently still searching for a suitable format and such.

Thats the title that I want for it and I would like to point out that there will be two or three more test events before the first season starts. I'm sorry but i will not (yet) add a subforum for your league. Leagues should really be up and running first and from the looks of it, you're still getting things off the ground. The website looks good, but from what i can tell noone has signed up yet.
Please get it running on your own first, then you can have a subforum. (the theory is that whether you have a subforum or not, if you cannot get a league running on your own, it won't become successful with a subforum).

The method discussed in the programmers requests forum sounds good. It should be measurable via the pth files too (or was that said already - can't remember)

i just got a littlle point to make about the rule of needing it to be runing, i can see why it is there but the leauge is more likely not to succeed without its own subsection, imo that rule should be slackened a bit, but hey thats just my opinion :)

If you head to the peregrius website you'll see it's firmly in place to begin. First round is 3rd of march and i'm unveiling it to the rest of the lfs community this afternoon. (gave priority to last years competitors).

We aren't using them anymore and they are a real pain when you just want to read the threads at the bottom of the page! I'm not going to make a generic events section. I wouldn't do that for anything. If there is a drift league/event organiser who wants a subforum, he can ask just like anyone else.
