maybe there is no reason, but maybe somebody brought back into mind the cooperation is between lfs-team and bwm sauber f1, not bmw itself?

€: oops, sorry, just have seen it's already mentioned in another topic :o

But still, we are down to 1 day. I just wish they would give us a bit more than just changing the day countdown. I don't consider changing the countdown as an update. But ah, well. One day to go.

20th April 2006, 14:46
Now the countdown should swith to hours !

DeXteRrBDN
20th April 2006, 14:51

I love the way they changed the word "days" to the word "day" too - nice touch :thumb:

LOL I thought that as well.....

I wonder what the meaning of the removal of the BMW badge is??

Having the rights to use the BMW Sauber F1 car design and having the rights to use the BMW logo are two totally different things. The team has the right to use the logo of course, but they don't have the right to allow others to use the logo without permission from BMW corporate. That is my guess as to why they removed the logo.

you are right, maybe BMW just found out they got a Formula1 team :shhh:

btw, the link to the logo is still in the code.

Or they removed the badge just because people were starting to talk about BMW simulator and wanted kazillion different BMWs to drive around the ring.

It's not only the wrong file (the BMW logo was part of the image containing the LFS logo at the top of the page), but also invalid html :P
ttss vic ;)
<img src="" alt="" />

Erm.. that's not bad HTML, actually. You'll be seeing that a lot in future. That's progression for ya ;)

[EDIT] I should clarify that for any tag which is itself self-contained, the /> will be expected in future. The IMG tag is self-contained, so it requires this. Also you'll see other self-contained tags like <br> appear as <br /> and so on.

Yep, I use that on my own website, it's in the HTML 4.0 Specification (At lest I think it's 4.0 :).)

Yaamboo
20th April 2006, 17:45
That's in XHTML 1.0. The current HTML version is XHTML 1.1.

LoL what do you guess why I ADDED the slash there? ;)

This is called "empty tag", as it has no end tag, and it is required for valid XHTML with XML Syntax. <br> is actually valid HTML, but not XHTML.
However, <br /> works also in HTML so its the way to go, just like for example writing all attributes in lower case.

That's because the CMX Viewer has been updated twice. At first R, and then they fixed a bug and now it's S.. so simple :D

That and the lowercase tag names (which was technically wrong but I've been doing forever anyways) are the two big changes to make HTML an XML compliant language, correct?

That's my understanding, yep. I've only been involved in developing one industry's XML schema, and haven't actually ever implemented it in code. For that, I beat up and bully a couple of other guys in our team ;)

Compleeeeeeeeeetely off-topic...
