When we use the handbrake, aren't the brake lights supposed to turn on? It always confused me seeing cars stopped on handbrake with all lights off, like they had the engine turned off. I suppose it wouldn't be hard to implement? Just a small observation, which i'm sure Scawen is aware of anyway.
On many cars brake lights also work when the engine is turned off. But handbrake has no effect on the lights.
So lfs, is correct at this point.

1pixel i mean like, camera shaked from 1pixel to left and right.

You misunderstood what he reported.
Yes, the steer-look works fine, however the static view rotation setting does not as soon as steer-look is activated.

Of course it doesn't because it's now linked to steering? The only possible reason i could see for setting the static with steer look is so u could have your head turned constantly....which would be weird?

That's not as "of course" as you think it is. Personally I don't even know why anyone would want to use the view rotation to begin with, or why anyone would need to have these two features work together, but technically it is indeed something that isn't right (= a bug).
The view rotation should either work as an offset additional to the actual look or the rotation slider should disappear as soon as the rotation gets overridden by another look functionality. The former solution would be better (and should IMO be hardly more than one line of code change), because I can guarantee you at some point someone will show up with an obscure case where he needs exactly that to work.
\/\/\/ Wow, never noticed that. The same thing seems to happen when you write with white ink on white paper. Who would've guessed?

i think plate background is yellow?:really:
Yes, but the plate dds file is white, lfs displays the rear one as yellow, and before you say 'but there is a yellow and a white plate in the dds file', write in the light blue colour and have a look for yourself, on the front its blue, and on the back its green, which proves it, the white background is used for both plates and LFS renders the rear one to be yellow.

The best solution would obviously be to render the text alphablended (a simple on/off alphatest probably suffices) on a otherwise invisible polygon directly over the licenseplate.dds. That way only the texture is used for the background, finally allowing non-UK countries to get rid of the ugly yellow backplates.

This is true, although why not just use both, especially as the dds file has got a front and rear plate anyway why not just have LFS use one for the front and one for the rear as its already there anyway, that way people could change them according to their country as you say.

awesome boys :)
but i found one bug i think...
i placed start green arrow.. and when i deleted that then start arrow hided but still start place at green arrow... its fixed the clean up button, sorry for my englishI've heard of this one a few times but I don't know how to reproduce it.
I created a start arrow, restarted race at the arrow.
Then deleted the arrow.
Restart race takes me to the usual start grid.
If there is a way to reliably reproduce this then I should be able to fix it, although it's not really an important bug.

Hey Guys,
Not sure if this is the right place but since i've had my new monitor (46" Samsung) there has been a bit of a glitch in the F9 tyre info. It seems the top part of the tyre wear indicator is overlapped with the tyre to road contact info. i'm using Z22 atm.
I've attached a pic to explain. It's not a massive problem but it is good to see how the tyres are wearing which i can't see now.
I'm using HDMI to DVI-D
Resolution is at 1920x1080 @ 60hertz
Hope it's an easy fix

I have found a bug.
I was customizing all view (to adapt bezel of monitors with bezel of each car...) and discover a bug in custom view with FBM, only in this car.
I have do a grid with all cars (in the order of the selection list, 1st UF1, last BF1), and add one AI for each car in BL1 track.
After doing all adjustaments, I notice that the custom view for the FBM don't save if you press TAB (to see another car) and when going again to FBM the custom view is the default (only seeing front wheels)
Not a bug, but custom view don't save position for the "screen angle" and uses the same than "in car view"
Fresh Patch Z22 installation.
@Peterules: I think that is because LFS thinks you has 2 monitors. Also for very big FOV like you put in your big screen I recommend to you, that put 5 monitors on left and 5 on rigth (in LFS->options->view) and adjust screen angle to maxium. You will have more natural view, but low FPS

How about hiding the restart.exe in to data folder? Maybe it would prevent people from deleting it because it would be out of sight.

I don't know of any car sold in Italy that comes with a shift light altough every car(99% at least)has a manual gearbox. So it's fine for me that the shift light is gone.

It could be that large amount of successive UDP packets messes up your router, which causes everything to lag after that. Does everything else lag too after you run Z22? You could also try if some other similar thing in other programs causes the same. Any game with a server browser should do it, they probably use a system similar to Z22's system.

That's not shiftligth like in LFS was, on this video is like in a Subaru Impreza STi, you can adjust manually when you want to show the ligth, but it is not the perfect point to do the change gear, ever show at the same RPM. In the video, show at 6500RPM in every gear.

The shift light is different. You don't need it to know when to shift, it was only there to help out. No matter what hardware you own, you can still know the right shift position.
But with gears if you don't have a h-shifter there is nothing to tell you what gear you are in.

Hello Test Patch users.
First thing to say - thank you very much for your help over these past weeks.
As you know I am about to go full time into physics, to try and get the Scirocco and new physics release as soon as possible.
We have decided to give new users (and other LFS users outside of this testing section) the benefit of all the updates we have already done, between now and when the Scirocco is released.
That means, we are making a new full version and we expect its name will be Z25 and hope to release it very soon - preferably this evening. :)
I've done just a couple of changes from Z24 to Z25, there are new car selection screen pictures and also there are 3 different sets of view settings now.
There are three separate sets of settings that are used depending
on the screen size :
Screen width 3.75 times the height -> wide mode (default 3 screen)
Screen width 2.5 times the height -> medium mode (default 2 screen)
Otherwise normal (single screen) mode is active (default 1 screen)
These three sets all have the same available settings but different
default values. This is so that if you have a wide screen setup
then LFS will still look good when you reduce it to a normal window,
because at that point it will automatically use "normal" mode.
You can get the updates in the first post of this thread.
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=1291570#post1291570
If you feel like it, you might like to simulate a clean install. That is, install a full version Z and DO NOT run it! First install the Z to Z25 patch. Now you have something that is equivalent to a full version Z25 install. It would be good to see if that goes well on your computer.

I think what Scawen is saying is new full version, as in default version of LFS, will be z25 now, and that will be what people download now (from lfs.net etc), when downloading LFS...and that this is basically end of current test patches now, work done, and time for him to go on with the physics stuff and VW...
so full z25 will be default LFS release until then, to give everyone the advantage of all the work thats been done in test patches already
...i think
That's how I interpreted it.

Z25 is the new recommended, hopefully stable, full version. You shouldn't risk anything by installing Z25.

Done my first bit of testing - everything works fine here. Didn't notice anything untoward. Using Windows 7 Pro.
Can I suggest that the server list filters - all, std, tbo,..., real, hard etc always stay at the top or the bottom of the screen, rather than jumping around depending on how many servers are found. Right at the bottom seems like a good place (i.e. as if the server list was full, but even when it isn't). I know it isn't a 'bug', but it did strike me as annoying.
Probably too late to stick in Z25 official release, but I can try :)

Just a very minor style thing:
The hover text for the cars has no ":" at the end, but the hover for the server option has " :". Either it should have also no : or at least the additional " " removed. (The ":" makes only sense when the option is selceted (yes/no))
EDIT:
Just noticed that cars have the " :" too if selected. I still vote to have ":" instead of " :".

These are valid points, but it would only be show stoppers that would stop the show right now, as we are uploading and preparing our low-key announcement at the moment.
Does the multiple views system still work ok? :)
Fair enough - add them to your list :)
Didn't try multiple views, as I only use a single monitor at home... okay, tried it now anyway, and it seems to 'work', but of course it looks silly on a single monitor.

Happened to me because I first downloaded Z25 from the testpatch thread and then decided to do it via the master server update system, was getting the exact same message until I deleted my already downloaded LFS_PATCH_Z22_TO_Z25.exe in the lfs folder. Then restarted lfs and everything worked flawless.

Higher resolution textures are added one object at a time. Eric likes to work on one thing at once. So when he updates the FXO and FZ50 cars then you will get higher resolution textures for them. When a track is updated, you will get higher resolution textures with it.
It's just a gradual process.

YES!! you did a great job! :)
Only I miss, to use bezel compensation (for 3 monitors) with the cylindrical view (5 - 1 - 5)
To me is more natural the cylindrical view with not too much FOV (about 130º) and a subtle adjustment of "angle monitors", than the typical 3D render with "flat perspective"

I have found that I am missing the sound for pit limiting in csr when I use the new patch.
I have a loud pit limit sound in Z, but nothing in Z25... have the outgauge value, field or what been changed, deleted??????
Edit:
I see now that a whole section of insim has been changed, and pit limit value is in this section:
Z25:
int ID; // optional - only if OutGauge ID is specified

// OG_x - bits for OutGaugePack Flags

The dashboard lights reporting is done a better way now and allows more lights to be added in future.

About the numberplate thingy.. would be nice if it would change automatically to the country where you are from.
Then everyone can see where everyone is from, then you don't need to ask in cruise servers: "where are you from?" ^^

Then everyone can see where everyone is from, then you don't need to ask in cruise servers: "where are you from?" ^^
Then you would need also different colours. Also, the blue part on the left would only work in EU countries I assume and last but not least the USA for instance have an other format and a whole different system that doesn't have a single line of letters and numbers.
You can see where this is going, it would be very complicated to replicate all the different "styles".
Also, if you have the urgent need to tell people where you are from, do it like many do and stick a big fat SWE to your nick name. If you can't be bothered to tell them all the time then just don't tell 'em.^^

Personally I can't help, as I have no idea about Wine. I don't know why Z25 would be different.
Just in case you don't get a reply here, maybe it would be a good idea to ask in the Hosts forum section.
I think some other people must have started Z25 hosts on Linux.

the new patch is excellent and i haven't found any problems as far as i've looked, however i need help ands clarification on the multiple monitors subject, from someone who KNOWS the answer
i have a 1280x1024 19' LCD as my primary screen, its on the LEFT.
i have a 1600x1200 19' CRT as my secondary, its on the RIGHT.
i have an ATi X1650xt running these. :schwitz:
can i run LFS in full screen on both monitors, and how? can i center the view on the secondary monitor, so as to have the primary looking towards the passenger side of the car?
i am confused as to whats supported here and how to access it. stretching the window across both monitors works but is inelegant

One thing you forgot to mention is your operating system. :)
If you have Windows XP, I think that means you can set something in your graphics card settings so your desktop is stretched across both screens. If so, then if you can see the combined resolution in the LFS Screen Options, you will be set to go. I don't know if it is a problem that your screens have a different vertical resolution.
If you can select the combined screen resolution in LFS Screen Options, then in View Options you can start to set up your view by setting one left and zero right screens (or one right and zero left) and you'd need to set the screen widths in LFS as well (of main screen and side screen).
However, if you are using Windows Vista or Seven then you can just forget about it. :(
