Sorry if it is already mentionned somewhere, but is there a distance/time limit per driver? (for example, a rule forbidding a driver to drive more than XX% of the winner's overall distance on his own or something like that).

no, but i doubt that one driver will drive fast and without mistakes after he has done 6 hours or so :)

Guys, we need seb unbanned asap. He only has a few hours to set a lap. He cannot do this tomorrow...
If he isn't unbanned very soon, then we will have to give him another LFS account to use to set his laps.... It will then be up to you guys to sort the times. Ofc we will post here which account he will use...
Seb66
9th October 2010, 19:14
Going to use the account "WhoKnew" to set my laptimes since you guys haven't unbanned me:Looking_a
jasonmatthews
9th October 2010, 19:19
To make it clear, Seb had set the fastest in the server of 2:22.57 using account seb66. He then got banned for bad safety rating, which we made the admins aware of many many times beforehand. No admins are in teamspeak or on the server, so he is now setting times using the account name whoknew. (you can check the ip's to clear any doubt of using a different driver in your server log file).
We are going to have this problem very soon again with Isaac, who is dangerously close to getting banned aswell.
If you guys need help with fixing the airio cfg file to fix this, please pm me :)

One question, but there will be 1 tracker for all the server or 1 tracker for each server during race ?
If there will be 1 only tracker for all then teoretical all team in all pool could win the 16h, right ?

we will have an admin looking at T1, if we see, that a team is permanently cutting that team will get a penalty. If you think there is a team that did not get a penalty but should have got one, you can send in a protest against that, we will have a look on that team again.

you may do what you want if you pressed SHIFT+P, but remember: there might be a protest filed in against you, if it seems, that you are winning time because of this

Few questions:
1. Are you going to warn about cutting or there will be penalty straight away and what kind of penalty? DT?
2. This shift+p rule if you can call it a rule is crazy, you should avoid that what happened on ALTERNATE 24 Hours of Aston GP, IMO you should make a clear statement about shift+p, penalty (for example +1 lap) or no penalty for shift+p. The second part of the question is how about timeouts? Are you going to penalize for that or not?
3. When are you going to send server password?
I think using MoE/IGTC/GTAL rules for timeouts would be good. I mean no penalty, only for intentional timeouts +1 lap. And +1 lap for every shift+p to avoid any unnecessary accusation about favoring one of the teams. Please consider this.

3.3.4 Blue Flags have to be respected immediately after the first showing.
The only refferense I found on this was this aswer.
They have to be respected. The driver who wants to pass should not have a problem while passing, like we had it in the first year, where NGTs sticked to there line when GT1s tried to overtake.
I agree that blue flags should be respected, but is the driver in a slower car class expected to disappear from the track as soon as a car from a faster class approaches?
It's not that easy to give immediately way especially trough the turn complexes, driving LFS FWD cars... when you get only understeer while letting off the throttle. Not many lines to choose from.
You have to make a really slow corner entry in order to choose a line that doesn’t disturb a faster car through the corner. And this might be even more dangerous for the approaching car if that slowdown is not expected.
Especially between the GT2 and the NGT class there is not much high speed difference on the straights... but there is a huge difference in cornering speed… So lapping will happen mainly through the corners. This is going to be nerve wrecking :schwitz:
A more detailed opinion on that by the organizers would be nice.
jasonmatthews
16th October 2010, 02:17
It is my understanding that NGT's stick to their line. The lapping cars (GT1 and GT2) have to find a good place to pass them.
If you go slightly offline in UFR, you are going off in the next corner 50 metres down the track then on the grass causing no end of problems. Of course the NGT's should move over if possible, but I would think that it is the responsibility of the passing car to not even attempt it in the chicane's or corners.

Will there be an IRC channel this time around?
rooney99
16th October 2010, 07:38
I agree with Jason, it's impossible in the ngt car to suddenly pull out of a corner....the entry line is so crucial so that you don't end up causing a pile up after the corner/chicane. I hope the gt1/gt2 cars will understand this and show some restraint, it is a long race after all.
commandermas

1. if we see someone cutting all the time, he will get 1 warning, if he doens't stop cutting he will be penalized.
2. on this track it is really easy to flip. that costs much time and you don't need to penalize that further. if you see someone flipping shortly before their swap/pit stop you can send in a protest, we will have a look if that was a flip on purpose. (intentional timeouts/shift+p(s)/flips etc will be penalized for sure.)
3. when the admin who can send passwords to all is back :)
timeouts won't be penalized (at first) but if there is a protest because you think that it might have been an intentional timeout that team might get a penalty later (if we think that it was an intentional timeout)

Yeah, congrats ineX, great job at the end of the day. :) Would've been hard to match you in any class, but we enjoyed the fight in GT2.
Couldn't follow GT2 as much as I wanted but I heard you guys had a great battle going on there, grats to you guys aswell, well done!

South City would be too harcore IMO, though so4 could be an option perhaps. Blackwood is probably too short and too narrow for this stuff. Fern Bay has been used this year. Westhill is filled of blind corners and tricky places where you can easily spin the car, not to mention that the laps are rather short... so maybe not a good idea. as4/5/6/r is always good for multiclass racing but it's overused. Kyoto GP Long is mint but has been used back in 2008.
Why not Kyoto National, I rather dislike the track as it looks like a bit Tilke-ish(never liked rovals in fact), but it probably is the safest option out of the non-overused track. That said it'd be shorter than any of the track used in the past 16 hours races.

Westhill ftw ;) I fell in love with that track, my best results were always achieved on Westhill

Is there a place to see the reason to all those 30s penalty was handed out for and when it happened? Are they results of protests?

protest will be viewed and discussed at the weekend, so most probably the final results will be released on Sunday evening.
