You know those view cars in 3d at car's websites?
It may seem kind of dumb, but does anyone else think it would be kinda cool to see the cars's interior and exterior if you were buying the game?
Obviously this will be done when all the interiors are redone and all the cars look nice.
Pointless.. probably, but what do you think about it as a replacement for the quarter shots of all the cars?
Posted poll so you don't have to respond.

If you wanna see them that bad before buying there is always CMX viewer. I don't think myself that the extra work involved would go towards sales, but I am no salesman. If you're targeting players who care more about the way it looks, then you will loose them on any preview features beacause I don't imagine LFS will look good as the latest NFS:FU title :smileypul
The other group will buy it regardless how it looks because they know the physics are more important in a sim.
Maybe someone could do a flash preview of each car because I don't imagine devs spending time on this, my 2c :)
e: Have you got an example of a 3d car viewer on another car game website ?

I really don't think that a more involving, professional, polished, more fleshed out lfs.net, would in any way hurt sales. If anything, after trying out the demo, a few high res shots of each car could help encourage licence sales.

LFS is always going to be LFS, no matter what anyone does. Adding a spinny 3d interior of the cars whenever Eric updates the interiors (or Scawen if he gets to keep doing the UF gig), isn`t going to impress anyone anymore.
Games, sims, etc are far beyond that. They already have the interiors with full bump/spec maps and all other bells and whistles long, long ago. It wouldn`t impress anyone, unless they are the type still just able to run LFS on "a calculator", and if they are, then it`ll just disappoint them when they can`t run it properly.
Perhaps something else that`d play to the strengths.... Some of those lovely slo-mo shots of tyres constantly flopping around (something the new NFS is trying to promote as "the latest thing"), maybe (and I hate to say it...) some drifting videos, showing that the physics are one of the few that actually have the ability to do it properly.... Something like that anyway.
Anyone can do photorealistic textures nowadays, try adding something that will realistically show the strengths of LFS, and encourage potential license sales.
