Well this happens often, let's say im going about 30mph and if i was in 5th gear it would have that red light on as to say gear up, but im only going 30mph and if i shift upto 6th gear it will say shift up again the red light will be on :S
hope someone can help me!

i think the red light also comes on to indicate "change down" too.

You change down too soon. You´re overreving the engine.
Well, I suggest doing this: Pit out and start driving in 3rd gear. Now accelerate until you hit the rev limiter and watch that light while rev counter needle makes its way up.

press shift+g, then you won't have to change gear at all.

That doesnt make sense, wheel or keyboard, it still is a 'button' you press simply said, so I don't see why keyboard destroys the gearbox.

burnt clutch, check the CT bar in F9 menu dont let it get red
