Hi, i have a weird IP address for my network here at home, and i would like to play at home with the boys.
My problem is that lfs does not recognise the ip i use and i even tried setting in the game which ip but that doesn't work.
is it possible to change the ip that lfs recognises and or is there a ip masker so i can make my ip look like a normal one to lfs.

Thanks to anyone in advance.

No, only usual LAN-IPs work.
The only way to mask an IP is using a proxy. But LFS doesn't do proxys, does it?

could you not just change the IP's of the computer in question...?

How many PCs are in your home network? Only takes 30 seconds per PC if you're using manual addressing (assuming all machines are switched on beforehand), or even less time if you are using DHCP - just configure the address range in your DHCP server.

sorry forgot to mention we use a program called Hamachi so we can play (Or Try) on the LAN side of things but over the net, hamachi has a weird 8.10.55.32 style of ip, and have had no luck setting up a VPN through xp.
We'd just like to play with out other ppl joing in and crashing into us.

Any help grately appreciated

Uhm, if that's the whole reason, why not make a normal internet server with
a) a password, or
b) the server type set to "hidden"

?

I have a question Dave, I bet that LFS always gives u an error "Enter valid IP address range" or something close to this, am I right????

If you are using XP, you can have 2 IP's on one NIC, just enter another IP, something normal like 192.168.0.1

Yes it does, and the reason we don't want to play "online" is that running through the main server slows it up but the one time we had a VPN going it was flawless.

Youre bullshiting man, IMO you are trying to play cracked LFS. Demo works via hamachi well, but when you are trying to connect to LAN S1 or S2 servers, LFS wants "real" LAN address range (192.168.x.x), not hamachi format 5.x.x.x.....
It is because the devs dont wanna guys like you to play on illegal(=cracked) S2 servers and race online with their stolen games....

Get a license and man, and then we will help ya...

EDIT: And I dont belive to that claim that master server is slowing down something.... I have never had problem like this and i am sure that many people also hadnt...
I know i am right, I have tested this myself(see tech. assistance)

Are you sure? :pillepall

I think your need to improve your TCP/IP skills
