Darn, managed to deleted all text, neverthless - The competition is now closing, you have to send your skins to me withint 17.00GMT+1 to be able to join the competition.

One skin pack, the best ones are put in a poll, and it's up to forum to deside who's the winner. So far two have delivered a contribution, if there are not any more people joining I will anounche these two and they will get their lisence.

There will be two S2 lisence total, the first said cash price has been desided to beeing changed to lisence price, to benefit the community better.

For every euro you pay on LFSWORLD you get 2000 high res skin download. Minimum payment on LFSW is 3 euros. 6 Euros will let you, if you want of course, invest in a total of 12 000 high res skins. There are other features or things you can use these on, like SMS warnings when patch is out and such.

But those 6 euro's are free to be used as you self want, what the demo uses his lisence for / the S2 user uses his money on isn't my buisness.

A skin pack? Sounds good, I'm in. I'll give it a shot. How do you feel about carbon fiber? Also, I can only do skinning in paint, so I think I could do a few skin copies from other skins if that's okay.

He loves carbon fiber. Go for it. I would also recommend making drift skins. That might increase the chances of you winning. Good luck. ;)

Don't listen on Kalev :) I am actually NOT a fan of drift skin. I am more in a racing - style / improvised skin style. Something that resembles me. The ones that get skins that resembles me and my driving style the most with get big ++++ in my back, and bigger chances to reach the final.

I don't like carboon hoods ;)

Take a look in the skin folder for the templates for the skins. The best thing is to do this in photoshop.
But again, you want to know a secret? - I have never myself done a skin ;)

Good competition, remember - give it your best shot. The more work you do on it, the more chance you get to be nominated by the quality of the skin. Remember to try to follow your set theme on all skins, this also makes the progress easier for yourselfe.

Remember that I am the one to chose the 5 last ones, so it needs to be something I like. I have stated earlier that the ones that manage to catch my "personality" in the skin gets high on the list ;)

What I mean by ground theme is that even if the skins are not looking exactly like the others, it still has a ground theme. Like for example, metall theme, Apocalypte theme, colorfull theme and such, it's just a way saying that the skins somewhat look allike, even if they don't need to. It's like saying a movie is a action movie. There are different action movies, but they all following the same movie lines / tricks / way to build up the movie.

It's a good start. Personally I am not sure if black/purple fits very well.
Also it seems a little simple. Try making either ads on it, or try playing some more with the colors. Vinyls by colors are cool, but don't overdo it into drift style :)

I will just say this one, so everyone understand - we will have absolutely NO flaming in this thread. There is nothing that is a bad skin. In the end you will have to vote for the winner, but before that this is entierly up for me to chose what 5 finalist that will go further. I will be much more happy if we focusing on having a fun competition and of course make good skins, rather than starting "I like that skin / I hate that skin" replies all over place.

There is no speciall theme, you need to come up with one. But hints have been given that I like apocalyptic/metall/doom/wild/something speciall themese for the skin pack.

It starting to go in one direction. The quality is a little low, and it seems to look more allike a banger skin.

Also, from now on I want screenshoots of the skin from the Veiwer program. It shows the skin better, and gives me an idea how it will look on the cars.

You two, can you please upload a picture of it in the veiwer? :) Easier when I know how they look in game.

Both skins are starting to shape good. You can use whatever theme you want, just make sure the skin pack looks like a skin pack if you understand :)

About that red skin, it's a step in right direction, just make sure it's not to "plain" if you understand. Kee pme updated, and hopefully with the veiwer program so I can see them with in-game look thank you.

I will be open to the ones that needs more time. If you can produce at least 1 VERY good, hopefulyl a couple of skins, I of course will give you time to finish those, quality WILL come in first line. When I pay these amounts of money I want epic skins to be honest :P

Hmm, it's hard to say, it completele depends on the skin itself, but there is no secret that I love apocalyptic, doom, "race-ish", metall alike skins. I am aswell a big fan of the Destruction Derby 2 skin pack that were made some time ago. Take a look on THIS

There some tips, I hope it helps. I hope to see some uniq and great skins. Do your best, I want quality. If you need more time I of course will give you more time, no one shal have the feeling they need to rush it :)

I like often the combination white/orange/yellow, black/white, white/red/black, red/yellow/black/white etc etc .. You should not give up mate. Even if you don't win you shal raise your head high and think that you DID give it your best. If you did your best there is nothing that is losing.

I found a skin that I like, look atachement to see.
That skin is somewhat simple, not that many colors, but the way how the colors are worked togheter and build up, that's kind of skins that I like too.

Also take a look on the DD2 skin pack to get ideas, still wondering if anyone taking the chance on the metall/doom/apocalyptic theme tho. If you have seen my racing style you would have understand why I like that ;)

So I say what I am think Just take its as my private opinion cuz I have no intention of flaming or offending you :shrug:

So your skins compared to very average skin in skin base are just sux.
They are neither well aligned nor have interesting design, sry but its just a few adds and layers in low resolution extremely inaccurate.
I really doubt you will win anything with skins like that or have any chance.
I am sure that thx to practice (a lot of practice) you will make something decent but right now its sux.

I am not telling you this cuz i have bad mood and wanna flame someone and hide my real lam3 intentions behind statement that its all constructive critics or something.
I am telling you it cuz for now, no one say it to you and The Very End didn't also I don't know maybe he is faint hearted or belive that you will turn this skin in something astonishing or he really would pay for skin like this but I doubt this skin will be much better than now.

So i decided to join but since I am not very like strict sport skins (adds layers and stuff) so my skins are not very sport like.

For my personal liking it's probally a little too much carboon like, but I do like the three skins you posted tho!
Saying something that you don't got a chance is wrong, because I will be the one to chose the 5 finalist people, and if you then get to the final there is a chance for you :)

I am in liking og dark colors and such, but again this can vary a lot depending totally on the skin.

Maybe try some combination of black/red/yellow, strong colors? Often the problem is that people make skins with colors that are too similar, and you don't really see anything specially about it, more like a color whipped togheter if you understand :)

About carbon I guess you meant first FXR carbon is so noticeable in LFS Viewer cuz I intentionally highlight it in game with Lynce reflection its look more toned and its hard to notice that doors are actually carbon.
About third skin well since mods are not very liking nudity I cant show you the most juicy pieces but between to of us The pink skin have a cliffhanger :schwitz:

Yeah maybe I am too nice. So I say it this way :

I am fan of solid colors. I am fan of metall, doom, apocalyptic, death themes. I really enjoy black in essential part of the skin, maybe flame skins? Either way, my race style is ..to say it nice hectic, therfor make something that reflects my driving style, make something that SCARES the oponents. If you manage to catch what I mean, and make a skin that fullfits that you are almost certainly a spot in the final if the skin is good.

On the other hand, I do like race skins aswell, but they need to be detailed and not just plain :) Remember that the skins can be the same on all the cars, but need to be fitted correctly. I want to see people use time on this, and not just dump down some half asses shit skins on me, in hope of getting that lisence and / or money.

Web tutorials its pretty much the only thing that will teach you how to do stuff.
Next thing its aside from tutorials experimentation with filters joining them or applying one after another for sometimes surprising effect :smileypul

I don't own paint net but from what I hear GIMP its much better.
And as a GIMP user I suggest you to download it a lot of plugins make it compatible with DDS PSD and even AI so its great program.
I know that photoshop have great possibilities but i can tell you that I have photoshop CS3 and still prefer GIMP for my needs its still an overkill :thumb:

Honestly TVE you give me one hell of a time since I could do a skin the way i feel like but to actually make it black, red, yellow and same time communicate to opponents that racing with you leave a mark.

I like the marks on the front and side of the car, but additionally, is it possible to play some with making a vinyl out of the colors aswell? You can try with the colors you have no, and either add new ones or just work with what's allready on it. Maybe a theme that starts in the front, and streeches to the back of the car somehow? :)

Hmm, I have no idea, just normal sponsors, maybe ones from Nascar and such. Maybe try to make an nascar scin or something? Will need to be pretty detailed then, aswell look somewhat real without beeing a copy of a real life one.

Dude I strongly advice you to make backup as fast as you can.
Scratching noises from comp usually mean Physical damage on HDD so maybe right now a peace of your HDD happily jump inside damaging the rest of your drive.

There is much to tell or advice but I suggest to keep chater to a minimum in this topic.
Make your topic in skins section somewhere and I would give you a few advice how to do stuff, since I am beginner don't expect to much.:)

Anyway I suggest you to judge your skin by yourself I always do this.
If you watch at your skin and see there a slightest thing wrong then its wrong and it will be wrong even if you ignore it or pretend its not important since skins are made from small things ignoring small details mean your skin would be looking bad in overall.
Also if you look at your skin and its not quite what you wanted I mean it has layers, nice colors and stuff but still there is something not quite right or not fit and you don't know what exactly then I suggest you to find what is it and fix it.
And if your skin is still somehow not right, Then :x the whole skin out and start from beginning even if it mean lost of 5 hours of work cuz its better than make a Piece of :x
Anyway when you judge your skin you cant make excuses if something is not right.
Even if it mean that you lost a lot of work, time and effort on stuff which is not fit and after all the hard work you put into you have to wipe out 70% of skin hope you get my point :thumb:

And I am glad you liked my skin but for example in previous skin I liked contrast red and white on girls face, anyway there a few skins I made which I like cuz they somehow not standard and kinda interesting (at least in my opinion so its matter of personal preferences :D)
In case of RB4 Skin its a good lookin skin I mean layers are good rather well arranged colortheme is also well chosen, its smooth, clean and accurate in other words is a good looking skin need only a small tweeks, but problem with good lookin skins is they are lookin good but nothing more, so even if its well made its still average skin :shrug:

SO here you have preview how does it look like with adds if you ask me with all those decals adding adds make skin messy so if you insist I will keep the adds but would have to reduce it number in half.
You can tell me what adds you don't like so I can delete them.
Anyway I probably mention already bout it (From your point of view its could look like whining :D ) but I prefer more toned colortheme and I am not a really big fan of those adds so i a m not really feel the car while doing skin :shrug:

Actually I wanted to make different skin for every car without repetitive stuff so it wont be boring.

Don't worry mate, there is no need for more adds than there :) Basically I just want adds on the lower part / with wheel / spoiler parts of the car, if too much it indeed screws up the whole skin. So, as in that preveiw it's a solid skin and I like it a lot!

I like those, a little adds wouldn't hurt, but just some small ones down with the wheels ;)
The rear spoiler is a hard nut tho.. not sure how that would work out, tried it just grey or does that mess up the theme?

Yeah that looks better.

Some points tho, the 88 number on the top of the car does not suit very good. Either does it need to have the "box" around the number, same as back on the wing, or maybe better to not have a number there at all?

The add on the front wing is exelent, aswell that the colors are good alligned on the skin.
Maybe try adding some very small adds on the bottom sides of the car? On the outside wing on the side of the car, at the bottom of those add some 2-3 adds.

Either than that, good.

And for you others, where are you? 41 signed up S2 users, and a couple demo users have showed their work, come on, don't want lisence? ;)

The S2 people that joins can chose if they want a 30 euro reward or a lisence. When the competetors are done I will chose my personal top 5, then make a new poll, and then it will be up to the forum to deside who did make the best skin.

Thuesday 21th - Monday 25th : I'll pick 5 skin packs from demo users and 5 from lisence user as favorites (By that time all the skin packs have to be sent to me)
Monday 25th - Sunday 31th : The grand finale. Two pools will be active. One for demo contributed skin packs and one for the lisenced contributed ones. The one that gets most votes in each of them get their price.

I'll agree, I am kind of egoistic, I wanted a skin, a "speciall" skin for myself, and I am too lazy to make up one by myself. First I though to make a skin req, but then I though it would be funny to have a skin competition, to
A : get the best possible skins around, B : boosting my ego meter on forum by making people happy and saying nice words to me (lolol), C : Giving a lisence to a demo user and D : because I want more people to enjoy this sim, therfor I try focusing on, at least as good as possible having a good community spirit.

Hope that's an answer to your comment, so to sum it up - of course it's egoistic, everything we do is egoistic :D You give gifts to GF to be "nice" , but in the end it's because you get a feelgood feeling by doing it, so everything is egoistic in my eyes ;)
