I have the chance to pick up a new gfx card and have the choice of 2 at very similar price

nVidia Geforce 6600GT 128mb
Saphire ATI radeon X1600Pro 512mb

Which card will be better not only for LFS, but also others (Battlefield 2 hit's my current card the hardest...)

The upgrade cards are both AGP as no PCI-E as of yet :(

I think the X1600Pro is the better choice!
But it is better you buy the Evga Geforce 6800GS with this GFX card
you have longer time fun :).

nvidia.

their driver support is the best, and compatability with any game out of the box is next to perfect.

I'm currently using the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512mb...i love it..no problems whatsoever...runs games flawlessly....the only thing you have to watch out for is that it is designed to run on Windows XP, either home or pro...so if you aren't running XP (i'm running Win 2000 Pro) then you have to fiddle with it to get it to work....but like i said...i have no problems now after i got everything setup correctly :thumb:
