Hi there,

I've tried to play LFS over Hamachi with couple of friends today. I have conneted to Hamachi, created LFS server set as "local", kept auto IP config enabled. I was able to create game, but when my friends tried to connect, LFS always retuned "You must enter a valid local IP" error(in join menu). My hamachi virtual IP is 5.24.39.187 - just for complete info. When 192.168.xxx.xxx is typed in IP field in join menu, LFS is trying to connect to this IP, even if it doesn't exist, but when I type my Hamachi IP, it returnes this error.
Strange is that when I set DEMO instead S2 in game type(on server and in connection menu), LFS accepts IP like 5.xxx.xxx.xxx, not only 192.168.xxx.xxx IPs. Also when I try to connect to myself from another LFS instance by entering localhost IP(127.0.0.1), LFS connects in S2 game mode...
Is it a bug or there is something that I don't know about LAN(or Hamachi) LFS playing?

BTW, manual IP configuration does the same...

Unlocked LFS versions can only connect to "valid" typical LAN IP ranges.

That's the reason (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=46979#post46979)

Hehe, it is probably protection against illegal Hamachi servers where S2 crackers can play... good trick, Scawen:)

Simply put you can only connect to server via lan if they have a valid lan IP address. Such as 192.168.*.*

Correct, Internet IP ranges won't work in LAN mode.
