I received a mail from The Tehran Department of Road and Transportation, www.TDRT.ir , back in 2008.
Here they want me to change team name as they got a lot of questions about TDRT ( The Danish Racing Team, www.TDRT.dk (http://www.TDRT.dk)), they write. I believe more, that it was due to the fact that our Racing Team was to be found all over Google - AND on top of their homepage link, www.TDRT.ir (http://www.TDRT.ir).
I just ignored this name change request and couldnīt see a conflict here,TBO. Last month I received another mail and this time from the Danish Gouvernment. They in their mail explain me, that this story isnīt over yet, unfortunately as we once more decline all offers but explain, that weīre just NOT willing to change the name of the team TDRT in ANY ways. Unbelievable to me, here Danish politics gets into this:
As our Prime Minister wants to become NATO chief these days, but he faces light critique by Turkey, (http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/LM666604.htm)Danish Gouvernment takes the chance to show their cooperation to the Muslim World and takes some quick action (today) and expropriates TDRT. (In order to secure Rassmussen some good headlines?)
They expropriated TDRT for a prize I donīt want to mention here (Not a lot, rest assured). Already TDRTīs absense from last Masters of Endurance (MoE) race was NOT driver related, but as of a result towards the required MoE skins and our commercials/sponsorship on it.
Fact now is, that a contact between me and the Tehran Department of Road and Transportation (http://www.tdrt.ir/)becomes pretty active. They explain me how to and what to do from now on.
Some of the faster TDRT team drivers might get a chance to become full-time LFS professionals, time-contracted.
Good luck to the future TDRT management and all of the drivers, here espacially new members. Propper skins in Farsi language have just been provided, and we are to use them from now on. They are uploaded here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JLAS5WHY):
