There was a schedule, with the dates, and times, of each event. Why would you wait until the PM of the server and password to plan the event? I can't say when the next series will be held yet, although I know when I want to hold it; the help of others is something I depend on and the admin staff may be too busy to do it when I want to. There will be another one though, I will promise that. As long as LFS is still alive... Which it should stay that way!

Yeah really sucks cuz the last event is THE best event on the calendar, always. This combo is a classic now... Really sucks that IGTC had to make their first event at the same time...

Our biggest fear was to have any driver have to drop out because of IGTC, and now our fears have been realised. Although I suspect that's not the only reason you've bailed out.
Whatever are his reasons, too bad the big leagues don't give a damn about the smaller ones or the teams/drivers that take part on the smaller ones, even when the smaller ones win the best new league award and have drivers from the top teams.
What's worse is that a 20 minutes research would be enough to avoid such situation and everyone would benefit from it... It's not that hard, specially when your races are spread over several months.
de Souza
15th February 2009, 23:21
Rudy, think with me..
You are 26 points behind, so one possibility would be: you win the event and Nolan gets eliminated in 2nd round with worst time.
Ok this is not very likely, so if you can grab the pole position, he can be eliminated in 2nd round with the best time and you still win. Grab the best lap too and we can have a tie if he's out on semifinals!
People getting knocked out earlier than they should happens all the time, and they've certainly happened to Nolan a few times already. :D
Not that I want either one to win, but it's a shame to lose a championship contender simply because he doesn't feel he can win. Your chances are much higher than those you claim to have, specially with the LX6, that you are very good with.
And I'm sure your team can handle themselves on the GTR side just fine.

I personally don't have a problem with it. Even if you plan on running 3 hours in the IGTC race, you might still have time to run both. Still, this kind of stuff shouldn't be scheduled like that. In all honesty, IGTC shouldn't start until after the MoE season IMO.

--------------------------
Bit of a bad season for me, connection issues during the second and third events, then I was beaten by Patrik (), but what a nice finale.
My qualify was better than expected. I said something like "I hope to get a low 55" these days but 55.0 was pretty nice indeed and awarded me with... erm... I don't remember what position.
Chris at the first round... Had a bad T1 but wasn't that far behind when he did a mistake at the chicane. I tried to go as fast as I could to get a half decent time but it didn't work.
Andris at the second round... Because of the previous slow time I had to start in front of him, and apart from being very nervous I could keep a safe distance untill the finish line. Second race was more exciting, I actually passed him but was soooo close to spin it on the last corner! He passed back but thankfully my combined time was better. Great races!
Dave at the semifinal... Counted this one as a lose already, as Dave is truly a monster with the LXs. But I thought I could try to give him some competition.
Oddly enough I had a better time than him on the previous round so I started behind, and wow... I could actually keep up with him! I don't know how but in the end of the two races I won! :shy:
Nolan at the final... My revenge for the last season's finale? Unlikely. But since weird things were happening and I got nothing to lose, I decided to go for it.
Disgrace on the first race as I made a lot of mistakes and he won with a big gap.
Disgrace on the second race as he passed me fairly easily and won. At least I was close behind him this time.
WOW on the third race as I started behind, kept up with him and had a chance at the last corner. "It's gotta be now!!" I thought, as the car slided gently in front of him enough to slow me down and don't leave him any spaces for a comeback, while providing me with a good exit. I swear the car did that alone.
And great forth race as I started ahead and had a good pace, but some crazy understeer 2 corners before the finish line complicated things a bit when Nolan came putting his nose again to make a pass. Managed to keep it cool and things worked out at the end. Lost on combined time but very very good stuff!
--------------------------
I want to thank everyone who joined us this season and I hope you had a good time!
It gets very frustrating at times when things go wrong and all you can do is watch others advance when you should. But that's the deal with this series, and that's what makes it different. No time to fix things, you gotta get it right at the first time!
Winning or losing, more losing than winning for me, it's always a pleasure to share the track with such great drivers. Thanks again everyone! :thumb:
Oh and thanks Sonicrealms for supporting this series!

You put up some seriously good competition tonight, nice driving mate. I think you had the 2nd fastest time of the event, which is really good.
As for myself, I hate to make excuses but I had been driving the FZR around Blackwood about an hour before the event started, and I never really got fully connected with the (LX6) car during the 1 lap races. It's very easy to overdrive the LX6 as much as I like it, and that's what I ended up doing. Still, I enjoyed it, and de Souza deserved the 2nd place, looks like you gave Nolan a good run for his money too. :tilt:
All in all this season has been very much up and down for me, with the majority being down TBH. The organisation etc though has been very very good, now bring on the All-star cup I say!! :D

Of course I let you win, I had IGTC to watch!! :p Nah, you deserved it, you got a very decent start and a good overtake at T1. I just couldn't keep up then. You were very good on this combo :)
Overall, this season was brilliant. Nice and light hearted racing with an extremely competitive edge (maybe too competitive at times... :p ). This is the first league that I have consistently done well in. Before it started, I was thinking a top 5 overall finish would be great, and to come away provisionally 2nd, I'm thrilled. The organisation was top notch, the drivers were great, the system was flawless, no waiting around and everything got done in time. Thanks admins for running a special league :thumb:
Lastly, congratz to Nolan. A worthy winner, most consistant throughout, never made a slipup and was always blindingly fast - great stuff :)

Here are some pictures I made from the last event. Sorry for low quality skins...
BTW if you want, I can write about H2H Winter series final round etc. in the LFS News section. Of course if it's okay with the league organizers.

FYI...on the round results image (http://simracers.50webs.net/h2h/results/H2HWS09%20Round5%20Results.png), the Semi-Finals show Tim Beaudet listed as "WINNER" and Nolan Scott listed as "Eliminated".

Very nice. I like the descriptions for every round. Very good job done, it's pretty interesting to read about every round. Just found a small mistake in the event 4 topic. "The finals would be run between Adris Pavars..." Adris -> Andris.

Just to point out some errors. Round 4 report says:
In qualifying, David Williams was able to secure the top spot. He, however, would* make it to the finals of the event. David Williams was knocked out in dramatic fashion in Round 1, by Michael Passingham. Michael was extremely defensive and David Williams simply couldn't find a way round in a very close fought battle. The finals would be run between Andris Pavars**.
*I think you meant wouldn't.
**Looks like you cut this sentence a little to soon.
And just out of curiosity... Where is round 3?
Great work overall guys, everything is looking really good on the site.
BTW, I will release my end of season statement soon.

Oops... That's what happens when you do a rushed update. Thanks guys.
Event 3 isn't up because I don't have the replays.

In Event 3 report, you have my name spelled incorrectly. It's McEvoy, not MacEvoy
