You've been playing LFS for nearly 2 years, you find out how to change the FOV, and make a post. When everyone else (who found this out in a week) make a silly comment you throw a wobbly.

Chill man. We know you can change the FOV. It's a known feature, and there have been many discussions about what it 'best' and what it most 'realistic'.

Yeah there's two camps really in LFS in preference for field of view, one is for sense of speed so go for FOV 80-110, the other is for precision in corners and they tend to go for 50-70.

I personally use FOV=68 and have done for so long it would take more than a month to adjust to anything else :D :tilt:

When I'm learning a circuit by hotlapping on my own or something, I narrow the field of view for more precision in the corners. If I'm racing I open out the field of view again so I can see my door mirrors.

Has anyone used the sound card options to change the sounds in LFS? I mean, once I accidentally changed something in the sound drivers or something and the cars sounded little more agressive but tire squeech was barely noticeable so I had to change it back.

Maybe just post tips and tricks and leave the bashing again? :)

On a serious note I dont post here often but browse regually- alot of people seem to get flamed here for making reasonably small mistakes- its like a lot of you regular forum members are just waiting around until someone makes a booboo and then you jump on them wielding big heavy implements of hate. That is completely different to spelling a word completely wrong in a way that it could be interpreted as a different word. If i was being annoying about grammar i would tell you to put a '.' at the end of your sentence.

Is there something about us Brits that we are not allowed to comment on our own mother tongue? And is our sense of humour so estranged from the rest of the world that nobody gets us anymore? And will anyone try and pick me up for using 'and' at the start of a sentance even if it follows a question mark and is capitalised correctly?

For those who consider alot of these comments to be noob bashing, I really don't look at them like that. Alot of noob questions are easily rectified if they just read the Wiki, or actually spent a little time getting to know the product they have just brought. It was, after all, what I did as a noob. Most sensible Noob questions get sensible and helpful Noob answers. I for one have found them very helpful in the past. I really don't see anything truly offensive in a lot of these posts other than to highlight someones particlular lacking in the cerebral area. Those who get upset the most are usually those that the truth stings the most.

I help any noob when and where I can and I feel that that allows me a certain amount of sarcasm 'credit' to deal with the less succinct questions posed on the Forum. It is, after all, the English way.

Please feel free to be sarcastic in your own mother tongue if you feel something is lost in the translation or comprehension.
