Airattack Rallycross Cup 2009

THE IDEA:

Hi all! I've decided to start a Rallycross cup for all AA members. I was going to explain shortly how it works. And hopefully when i've done so, many drivers will be driving it.

Here it goes.

I got the idea from a swedish motorsport called "Folkrace". Its rallycross with s*it cars that are used in sweden. I was planning to start a cup for all AA members, with races wich bases are taken from "Folkrace". Lets start from the begginning to the end. You first take all drivers, put their names on a piece of paper, and mix them together. Then you take one after one untill you have 6 car heats (races). Each driver drives 3 heats, one in the front lane, and one in the back, the last one is by lottery. When all the heats are done, you count the points. The points for following positions are:

1. 7pts
2. 5pts
3. 4pts
4. 3pts
5. 2pts
6. 1pt(s)
Retired. 0pts
Blackflag. 0pts

WHAT HAPPENDS?

Lets make it easy, lets say we have 3 drivers on 20 points, and 2 drivers on 18 points. Those goes emediatly to the A-Final (main final). Only 5 cars? Why? Well, we have A, B, C and D finals, wich the winner progresses to the next one. So if you score bad in the heats, and gets into the D-Final, you can win D, C, B and also A. Hard to understand? Maeby now, but you will understand after the first race.
The one who has most points after the 3 races will also choose start position first in the final.


So, when the race is done, all A and B finalists get championship points, and we have one of theese races each month, so that will be 12 rounds.


RULES

I will be a judger myself at the event, and find a replacement when myself is driving, these are a few rules:

Dont turn other cars around, you will be blackflagged and gets 0 points. If you do turn someone around, and stop to let him pass, you could get away from the blackflag, if its not a mega-push.

There could be an accident, wich causes yellowflag in the area, and when you get yellowflag, you are not allowed to pass any car, because of the risk for another accident. From the meter you get yellowflag, and to the car who has stopped, its not allowed to pass. If someone else stops in the area you are free to pass him, but not moving cars.

If you falsestart, the heat will restart and if you do it again, you will be DQed.

THE CUP 2009

We will be doing 12 rounds this year before we can disclaim a world champion. The following rounds are:

Round 1: Februari 7th
Round 2: Februari 28th
Round 3: March 28th
Round 4: April 4th
Round 5: May 23rd
Round 6: June 27th
Round 7: July 11th (Moved to August 1st)
Round 8: August 8th
Round 9: September 19th
Round 10: October 10th
Round 11: November 28th
Round 12: December 18th-19th

All racers expects to be on the "[AA] All Around Rally" server 19:50 UTC as latest.

Only XFG and XRG are allowed.

You are allowed to bring ONE friend to each event.

Would be fun to run as an S2 event, rather than be limited to demo cars/track. The gap between each event also provides a nice bit of time to learn a new combination, and prepare for each round.

I Agree with you. Maeby we can do 1 event on the Demo and the next on S2? That mens 6 Demo events and 6 S2 events. Even so i hope you both will join. As it looks now there will be at least 20 drivers for each event, good fun!! :)

Tomorrow at the set time will be the first round of the championship. The time is the one set. All AA Drivers are allowed one friend. There is only 15 avaible persons on the server, so be there as early you can. If you are late you will not be allowed to start, to make it easy to put the drivers into the heats. Hello all! Round 2 of the series is by. This was a very eventful race, with lots of crashes and fights. In the final Boost could get the best out of he's car and win. There was a 5-car battle for 2nd all 4 laps. With position shifting every corner. Barn (who came from the B-Final) could get the 2nd after being 6th for 3 laps. Gelin tooked the 3rd place with only 0:00.01 to spare of Turbo. 5th and 6th came father and son Ari and Max. Max had a huge battle for that 2nd place but crashed together with Turbo and spun. AirAttack certainly does not lack for servers and to be honest (as nice a gesture as it was from lvlo) i dont see why AA events were ever run on lvlos system rather than our own dedicated box anyway. This dedicated system costs the airattack community in the region of £88 per month (http://www.airattack.co.uk/portal/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=30576) last time i checked, and to not put this quality system to use for planned events doesnt make the slightest bit of sense to me.

There are 4 server running currently, 2 demo, 2 S2 - at any time, any one of the servers may be used for an event or series and it is just a matter of contacting the appropriate airattack admin to ensure a server is set for this. There is also no shortage of ways to contact the many airattack LFS admin.

I'm not pissed or so. :) The thing was that i thought AA Weekly Race server was still alive. Since we used to use this. And suddelny it was gone without telling me. But things like it happends. Just hope i can find all drivers for tonight...

Hey! The 3rd round of the championship is done! A tuff event as usual, with 14 cars and a C-Final. In the quals Domisz had 21 maximum points. In the C-Final Woox and Bagander had a fight untill Bagander got the black-flag. Then woox could win easy. The B-Final was a hard one. Ari and Trond had a big fight for 3 laps untill both retired because of accident/black-flag. Driver GR could go from 3rd to 1st and won. The A-Final was a 4-lap fight between Driver GR and Max. On the last straight also Domisz and Gelin came, ending up that all 4 drivers finnished witing 4 tenths of a second, with Max winning.

Hello Racers! The 5th round of the championship is over. This was a difficult round, with alot of technical issues. We tryed Joker-Lap for the first time and 90% of the big crashes were gone. In the final Woox made a good start and tooked the lead after Gelin and Lernerud crashed together. Gelin could soon go into the lead after both Woox and Napolean went into the Joker-Lap, but soon finnished 4th, behind Woox, Napolean and Domisz.

Hi Kenny. Sure you can join! You only need demo for now atleast, as it is on a demo server. You will play as my guest then, if everything works i could give you a permanent "Wildcard". PM me in a week or so and you will recive the server and password, else i will forgot it.

Hello racers! The AR Cup has reached its midpoint, and we're going in to a summer break. The 6th round was tuff, with the youngsters showing off and the "oldies" having some trouble. Napolean, however, had no problem and took hes consequentive wictory. After him there was a youngster, Hyttinen, a Swedish Folkrace driver came 2nd while a newcommer, Kenny, was 3rd. In 4th Gelin came, after luckily winning the B-Final after he's main rival Ludde was out of gas. In 5th was another youngster, Bagander, and championship contender Domisz came 6th after an accident.

Hello racers, big news about the 12th round (December). We will run the race on S2, and here are details:

* 2 Day event with 3 quals on friday and 3 on Saturday with finals.
* XFG/XRG on Fe6 REV
* 20+ Drivers
* Extra price

And so on.. To get the best driver this year. But you cannot just join the same day. You will have to send an comfirmation E-Mail to me that you want to drive. Just write your name or Racername in an E-Mail that you want to drive the 12th round so i know how many we will be. The E-Mail is gelin.mikael@hotmail.com . The last day you can do this is the 1/12 (1st December) if you have not registered you will not drive.

Hallo Racers! Now another round is done. Round 7. This was an awesome round with action all the way through. 3 drivers were the favourites to win this event. Max, Gelin or Napolean. Gelins chances of winning went away in the B-Final. He breafly had the lead before crashing out in a start accident. Max finnished 2nd in it. Napolean was turned around in the A-Final but could recover to 3rd. Won did Ari after a big battle with Ezon and Mosseman.

Hello Racers! The 8th round of the cup is over. Before i write a review i would like to tell the racers a few words. There was alot of fights and quite a mess at the race tonight. And it's not acceptable! Some drivers has recived a warning, and some are banned from the cup. None of the top-fighters recived a warning or got banned. Shape up, if you want this cup to live on! Now to the race! It was the roughest and toughest race in the history! 15points wasnt enough for the final, only 1/2 15 pointers made it, and it was Gelin. Max was 3rd in the B-Final and Gelin ending A-Final 6th after retireing with engine-faliure. Domisz ended the A-Final 3rd, to close up on the top 3! Won did Hising, one of the banned members. Ari finnished 2nd, and gets closer to the top too!

This may not be the right place to post this but dont know other ways how to contact with [AA] members... So, i was playing today in your rallycross server (airattack #2) and i got banned without a reason. I was having some connection problems and once i was back i was kicked out of the server. Now i cant join anymore. This is sad since i like your server and i will ALWAYS play fair as possible. So is there any change to get back in your server? Hint for that who banned me... Maybe some warning before you ban? Its REALLY noobish to kick/ban like that. PS. I use nickname )(Scud)(

Well, Scud, I can see who banned you, it was one of our limited admins (aka limads). I cannot say what was the cause, but surely you should be always in some way warned first, told where you're going wrong, and only then banned if necessary. We'll watch the one who banned you a bit closer and also correct his ways if not appropriate. As for the ban itself, it will expire in some 6-8 hours, so let's leave it as it is. In the morning you can connect again. If you experience any more troubles, best way to post them is www.airattack.co.uk site, Club Forums, LFS section.

Hello there all racers! We just finnished the 9th round of the 2009 AARC. There were a couple fights out there and always some nice racing. Max, one of the championship contender could not start due to internet issues. Gelin, the other championship contender was eleminated in the B-Final and could only score one point. The other 2 totally owned the race and finnished 1st and 2nd with Domisz winning and Napolean 2nd. In 3rd came NeTinkietePas and the Wildcard Kenny in 4th.

Hello Racers! We're slowly but surely getting to the end of the 2009 season. Today the 10th round was decided. Domisz came in to this event as the championship leader with the huge gap of 20 points (1 win). The B-Final had the contender Gelin in it, agains come-backing Boost. But the battle was over at the startline as Gelin got a incredible start. He surley won the B-Final and went into A-Final. In A-Final we had Domisz, Mosseman and Napolean in front at the start. Domisz got a very good start and Gelin "starter" once again got a great start. Domisz came out of T1 in 1st ahead of Gelin and Mosseman, but Mosseman could soon grab 2nd and finnish there. Gelin finnished 3rd, with Max and Napolean 4 and 5th. Now Domisz only have to finnish 3rd or better to claim the title at round 11.

Helloooo racers! We have a world chamion! BIG congratulations do Domisz who finally made it! Here is the story. As neither Napolean or Max made it to the start it was up to Gelin to keep the title dreams alive going into round 12. He qualifyed to B-Final while Domisz made it to A-Final. Gelin had to win B to have a chance and he also led after ½ laps. But some bad luck only saw him finnish 4th. Domisz then was champion finnishing 2nd in A-Final. Drive of the day was Buster, unbeaten in the qual heats and won the A-Final.
