View Full Version : Banned from a public server just because (of "joining mid-race")

Today I joined the... "Neikkar" public server (or something like that). All but one driver were in the last lap, as the other one had also joined the race few minutes ago. I left the pitlane, drove around the hairpin, the chicane, the backstraight, the 90º bend, the esses... all this without leaving the track or slowing down innecesaarily (nothing unlikely in a demo server).
One of the 5lap drivers said: "there are two stupid drivers here" and they made the late-driver disconnect under three seconds. I blinked, and got kick out too.
I inmediately entered the server again and began to write "Would you tell me any decent reason for getting banned?" but the outdrew me.
I think a driver who enters a public server cannot be kicked out just for not being part of a group of friends or team. If they wanted to drive together without any intruders they can make a private server (that's why they are for).
But can you say anything to the server admin?
Thank you very much

well, it was a demo server, so that shit is expectable. Just find another server. Those are the things you have to live with if you play the demo. Buy s2 ;)

Agreed... i spent about 4-5 months on demoservers, so I know there are some drivers with IQ less than 45.... Problem is that you cant do anything againts it(except buying S2 licence:)). Look around a bit and fing yourself server where are reasonable drivers. There is a lot of them in demo, but in the bunch of fools they are hard to find.....:(

There is a difference between joining the server while a race is going on and joining the server and influencing this race by being on the track. There are many people who dont like to pass people in the last turn of their race, when they are still fighting for a position, and someone enters the server and drives "in their way".
By the way, I find those "wwaaaeeehhh those evil guys banned me, this is so unfair"-threads so damn annoying. YOU DONT HAVE TO JOIN THIS SERVER AGAIN! There are enough servers out there, and I have never had any problems, you can always have clean races - ok, sometimes you need to drive slalom around noobs trying to wreck you, but if they are not successful, they will leave without being banned...
All those crying, whining, flaming and "where is my S2 I payed for" threads should be deleted instantly. What does it help you guys when you post here that you were banned? NOTHING!
Do you think we will contact those evil bad admins and say "OOoohhh, you banned my friend, NEVER do that again!"?
1. we wont
2. they done care anyway.

20L (I don't want to search in Character Map) is about 40 US$, which is about 1000 UY$.
My mother earns about 15kUY$ a month, my father has some saved money (he was fired from a bank because it "was" closed down, which happens every ten years), part of which was invested to make a "ferretería" (I don't want to search in Wikipedia). I'm an 18 year-old student.
Our PC is a AMD Athlon 1GHz, 256MB RAM, GF 2 MX-400 (I think) 32MB. Luckily I have ADSL; the 256Mbit/s costs 1300 UY$ per month (yes, 50US$ per month). I'm driving with a keyboard and get 8 fps with eight cars at the start (yes, either BL GP or BL RX).
¿Cybercafés? No one has racing simulators or steering wheels (I'm driving NFSMW with decent graphics for 20UY$ per hour, or 1US$). It is said that GTR2 will come to this cybercafé, as all popular game websites feature videos and previews of it.
In other words, it will take a lot of time for me to drive LFS S3 with decent graphics. And I will, so please, let me drive in decent public demo servers, because I love both the game and the project.

Is it me or are these type of threads getting more and more common recently. At the end of the day posting on here doesn't help you, just go to another server, or if you want to do something, get the replay file, look up the email address for the person that runs the server, email them the replay and explain the situation, and list the members involved, and see what they say. IIRC bans are only for 24hrs anyway?
I don't agree that clean racing should be part of what you pay for in S2..clean racing should be more commonplace in demo servers as well, it used to be a couple of years back when I was on demo. All part of being popular I guess.

I joined the KY Oval (OUTATYME) race server tonight and got booted by vote the moment I said hi. Whats with this? Can't people just make the servers private, so people don't get booted when they join, I think it's a little rude ....

That is the point.
Friend's race - private server
Open race - public server
Noob's race - demo server (because of the fps and keyboard I rather am one of them)

Maybe they had read your forum postings? :)
(I'm joking, sorry. Agreed, that is really rude of them.)
