I would bother to post samples of the 5 of us, but a) don't know where to find any of the last two on the list, and cba to do it anyway. :)
Good luck to all !
I shall do the "ethically moral" thing and not vote.

DWB gets my vote, mainly because Mp3 Astra's slightly false sense of excitement during commentary reminds me of James Allen. (I realise how offensive that sounds, but I still love The Blame Game, don't hurt me)

Interestingly enough, I never fake my excitement. My ladeez, on the other hand... :scratchch
But joking aside, I love racing so darn much that any kind of overtaking move where the outcome is not certain will always make me raise my voice.
My vote here went for DWB because of his excellent insights during MoE races.

It just comes across as false, if your ladies are faking it also may have something to do with how you come across. :thumb:

I voted for Michael but Michael you better get to work for 2009 because deko's getting better and better. Deko's commentating in iTCC was really good, so was the action in there but he commentated really well on it imo.

I too voted for you, Michael, but I do have one piece of advice! During the last MoE race I noticed a few technically incorrect statements about team strategies etc. In future it may be beneficial to ask a competing team about the standard fuel usage and tyre wear rate before the race so that you can be a little more informative during your commentary.

Especialy the offline LAN-Finals of different cups / leagues etc. etc. etc.
Not many can say from themself that they hosted / commentated live on Stage in front of hundreds of people :)

Maybe but his English is so terrible that it makes you ether cry or laugh, meanwhile Mika who's also German has sympathetic one.

They are both very good when commentating in german and both not that good when commentating in English. But Vykos' english is much better than Mika's, IMO. I'm not talking about accent, but grammar/vocabulary.

The Blame Game isn't a "race". If you liked the blame game you should vote for him as best movie maker.

Who cares? Itīs just about race commentators or should we vote the best grammar / spellings /vocabulary race commentator in english? :)
This vote is not really important to me, because iīve done the broadcastings for fun and everyone (and not for a nomination), who can nearly understand me. And this for nearly 3 years, lots of league casts, 24h-races and LAN events as a host. If i have the time for a grammar lesson, i will spend it to make less people cry :D
My vote is for Mp3astra. Great commentary with nice emotions during the casts.

I just realized how much I fail. I've always been on the side of non-native commentators cause it's ****ing hard to do it in a foreign language. And now I didn't vote for the Germans

And Passingham Wins ! Fantastic !
I'm quite impressed with how he's done in his first year doing live event commentary. I work in TV, and at a college station, so I get to see a lot of talent in their beginning states of being on-air. And Michael has been great, even doing his first live event in LFS, the 2008 Kyoto 500. He's been brilliant with H2H, MoE, and when he's done oneGP and other events. Definately one of the people who can help promote LFS in the internet world with coverage of the events.
Ben also is a great color commentator/analyst. He has the experience of racing, and knows about the setup strategies and rules quite well. He's good at analyzing a situation to give the driver's view on the action.
I would comment on Theo and Joachim, but unfortunately I haven't heard any of their work, but I am sure, based on what I've read here, that they are also two great race commentators here in LFS.
And there's me..... I reckon I'm good for my own version of Murrayisms and such. :). Now, just to get a better computer and more free time to do even more. I've done commentary on real-life sporting events and in LFS, and I must say, that commentary in LFS is harder than in real life - it's much harder to interpret the environment you're commentating on without having crowd feedback, being able to look out the window of the commentary box to see what's going on, and unable to get a full representation of the general atmosphere of the thing. But it is indeed a great honor to be able to provide commentary on some of the best events in LFS, with some of the best teams and drivers participating.
Shameless plug: Join me, Michael, and Ben (at least I believe we'll all be there) on the 24th-25th January for the MoE 24h Aston GP race. Hope that the prerace show elements go better this time ! :)

Thanks deko for that very nice post :)
Thank you to everybody who voted for me - and everyone who watches the broadcasts that I am involved in. My inspiration to do commentary came from the STCC, so I guess I have Becky Rose and Tristan Cliffe to thank for that.
Thanks to Tim Beaudet, Jonathan Palmer, Ben Keough and Timo Hynninen for their commentary genius throughout the year without which, I would not have as much fun watching and talking over these crazy races.
I hope to do lots more commentary work this year so you will probably hear me very soon. Thanks again.
