Voting Rules and Notes

Hello, everyone.

Some notes on the nominations process and the method I used to determine the nominees for each category:

I stated that the 5 most-nominated choices in each category would be the category nominees, and that only nominees with multiple nominations would be on their respective ballots. However, in some cases there were a large number of nominees with the same number of nominations, resulting in a larger total. In these cases, there may be more than 5 nominees per category.

Voting will be open until the polls auto-close (sometime in the morning of January 15th for most Euros).

I would appreciate it if those forum users with multiple accounts would not vote more than once, but we have to go with the honor system on that one.

There's nothing stopping you from voting for yourself, but you should probably take stock of the ethical implications of doing so beforehand. :D

Is there a reason you didn't include the honorable mentions (drivers/teams/leagues/etc. that received nominations but not enough to get in the poll) like last year?

For the record, a few things:

I used the same method as stated in the OP for determining who got in the final ballots.

Nominees that did not receive sufficient nominations to enter the formal ballot will be posted in an "Honourable Mentions" Thread following completion of polling.

Commentary Line of the Year and Best New Fourm Member will be up later this evening. All nominations that are valid received only one each, and I will be deciding whether or not to poll these. Boothy is aware of the commentary line of the year nominations and working to find and upload a copy of each, and that thread will get posted with those if the poll is decided to be executed.

Just a little note here, I find strange that there is not one category for Deko...I mean he deserve one awards for best league organizer and an other for his work for the community , so here is two from me Deko!:thumb:

Well, its quite straight forward and the nominations/voting methods has been same for the last couple of years.

In December people usually discuss about if there need to be any changes from last years awards (add/remove award etc.). Then there will be a thread requesting you to send in nominations. Once the deadline for the nominations is up, the organizer would put up the polls (usually lasting 15 days).

Just keep an in the LFS-Community Year-End Awards sub-forum (http://www.lfsforum.net/forumdisplay.php?f=147) around December to keep track of what's happening.

Once the nominations are open start spreading the word across all the communities (country-specific, regional, drift, cruise etc...)

And apprantly all you needed was two nominations to get into the polls. :razz:
