Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new wheel after my plasticky Thrustmaster Ferrari something broke.

G25 is too expensive for me. Is there something else with as good quality available thats not so expensive.

Preferably, I would like it to have flappy paddles and a gear stick of some sort (whether sequential or not I don't really mind).

Clutch pedal would also be good but again it isn't a must.

Thanks

I know one with a clutch, flappy paddles and a (sequential) gearstick, the Thrustmaster RGT pro clutch. I had this wheel, the only thing is that it is not reliable, it broke down on me after a month.
The Price is around €100-110 euro's here.

I don't recommend it, so it would just be better to save up for the G25.. like me :D

In before der butz.

Buy a Logi EX, or a Saitek R440.

Or, wait, save up, and buy that new fanatec wheel.

the newer Logitech Driving Force GT is a very good wheel for the price and there is also a new competitor on the block with the FANATEC Porsche GT wheel:

I wouldn't bother with the R440. It only has 90 degrees of rotation and 4 buttons. It's alright as a starter wheel, but it's really limited once you're into it.

The clutch pedal is always going to be the problem when talking less money. The G25 is still going to be the best one for the cash. But I'd take a DFP with it's 2 pedals over something that's not much cheaper than a G25 but with shonky build quality.

Great one!!! :smileypul I know I'm always on it, just my über-sense of equity :-)

Nah, really RGT all the way for me. 4 years no probs, you can get it for half the price of a G25.

I would recommend this wheel, Its got 900º steering, FFB thats on par or better than the G25s, and its built realy well.

+1

Went from the DFP to the DF GT and I am very happy. Great feedback without the centering problems of the G25.

I will be putting the Clubsport Pedals from Fanatec (from the GT3 Clubsport edition wheel Mentioned above) with this wheel when it is available.

Btw if it is a Trustmaster Ferrari wheel then its worth alot of cash!

I guess either Thrustmaster RGT or DF GT. Have to see what Thrustmaster say about the one i have at the moment and then I'll decide.

Oh and the one I've got isn't worth alot of cash I don't think. Ferrari 3 in 1 Rumbleforce is the one I have. Bought it new from game for something like £25.

So the DF GT is "built" for the PlayStation... where can I get PC software?

Has anyone tested the Porsche wheel(s)?

(Damnit, I just don't want to get the G25 and 3 months later its price drops massively...)

Why do you think that? Answer please, because i think about buying G25.

Well, drop-off in prices is massive in electronic devices anyway. The G25 has been quite stable so far though, maybe because of lack of competition. The Porsche wheel - as the only competition - is a bit cheaper... so this might accelerate things. The G25 WILL drop, the question is WHEN.

DFGT works with pc. It's USB after all.

Windows drivers are here, DFGT will be recognized as a plain DF Pro.

Locally prices of the G25 have actually risen recently... Last year they got down to about $220 CAN at www.ncix.com , and one deal actually got the price down to under $200. Currently they seem to be at about $300, with the odd deal on that price. Future Shop here in Canada used to sell them for $300, now they're $360... I wasn't expecting to see the prices go up, but it looks like they have done for the time being. I'm holding out for the time being, but next time I see it anywhere close to $200 on ncix.com I'm going to grab one.
