Hi racers,

Welcome to the first season of:

iTCC - The Touring Car Championship by iCON Racing Events.

This is a race series taking place in the first half of 2009, and will consist of six 'triple-header' rounds (3 races at each round). The car used will be the FXR restricted to 32%. The idea of this championship is for it be run, as far as is practical, in a similar way to both the BTCC and WTCC. This means a similar race format, with partially 'reversed' grids and also success ballast.

Timings for the race meetings will be Sundays at 1800 GMT (UTC)

Please make sure that before you sign up for this championship that you are eligible to enter.

Eligibility

To be eligibile to enter the iTCC you must be able to meet a minimum standard of outright pace - the iTCC requires that you can lap within 103% of a recognised benchmark. In this case it is Rudy Van Buren's fastest race lap from the Pre-Season meeting at Aston Grand Touring (AS6) - 2:45.22. So the time you will be required to beat is 2:50.18 (Sorry to those who signed up straight after this post, but this is the time you need to beat now - looking at your names, I know that won't be a problem)

When registering your interest in this series please submit a .spr hot lap of your racing at Aston Grand Touring (AS5)

If you competed in the Pre-Season meeting, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria, a place will available for you until 31/12/2008. After this time, no preference can be given to you.

Teams

There will be a team championship within the iTCC - each team is to consist of a maximum of two drivers. If there are more than two drivers in the championship who belong to the same team, you are more than welcome to enter as another team.

Race Numbers

Any numbers are available between 2 & 99 (the number 1 is only for use by series champions)

Allocation of race numbers is strictly on a first come first served basis.

Confirmation

The confirmed drivers have been informed. All other signed-up competitors are on the 'Reserve List'. There is a 'reserve shootout' system, please see the rules for more details.

Sign up is open from now until 2200 GMT (UTC) on 01/01/09. PMs will then be sent to the confirmed and reserve drivers with details of the first round. Sign-up to the Reserve List for the second and subsequent rounds will be open after the preceding round.

The first round is 11th January 2009 at 1800 GMT (UTC).

I had thought originally to make it 103% but I looked at my own best time (2:47.8) and thought to myself 'well I'm not bad - actually 2.50 might be bloody hard', but then looking at the results from the pre-season, nearly everyone was doing those sorts of times anyway.

So I've amended the percentage - time to beat now is 2:50.18. I'm quite happy that at that level, we'll get drivers who are not only pretty quick but also hopefully aware of what they're doing on track with relation to others.

If we end up having too many sign-ups we're looking at a way to give reserve drivers a chance of competing in the event. (Thanks to Darryn Lobb for that idea). More details on that to follow.

Hey Guys, I would like to say about that video you posted fastwalker,
not trying to argue i know what i done was wrong,but i did only have the game a small period , and i didn't have a wheel only k/board which i struggled,i later spectated because of it and didnt compeate in following events,I have had a wheel since and now have G25.I can assure you i will be one of the cleanest drivers out there.Ask a few drivers if you dont believe me , or even Niall Murray , N.Murray who is host of Murray Motorsport Events,he knows that i am not a dirty driver,I have quickly adapted to lfs and now im a clean driver and im now in Team Ireland.I have also had another team,the other one was [Woot],Do you honestly think they would have me onboard if i was dirty to get a bad name for themselves? I have improved dramactically , and i can gurantee you,100% im as clean if not cleaner then 90% of they guys in this,ask the guys from [Woot] , e.g jwardy,wilko868,jaws99.Just trying to get my point accross that im not a ditry driver and im 100% clean+committed

Well you competed in the pre-season meeting, you meet the eligibility criteria, and have applied to join the iTCC before 31/12/08. Therefore - you have a place in the iTCC.

Hi Racers,

OK, we're now at the point where we will have a full server for the 'reserve shootout'!

There are currently 20 racers signed up from the Pre-Season event who have their places held for them - barring any last-minute sign-ups from other Pre-Season racers, that means there is 10 places which will be available in the reserve shootout. (A full server in the iTCC will be 30 drivers at all times)

I'm going to close entries for the first round early, at 2200 GMT on the 01/01/09. After this point no more entries will be admitted for the first round of the iTCC.

Entries to the reserve list for the second round will opened up after the first round. All drivers already entered on the reserve list do not need to re-apply.
