i have Logitechs cheap wheel and i have kinda same problem with 180 degree mode.. well its not a problem i just go to the umm FF/Axel section or something and keep the wheel straight and press "C"(clear) button and it puts it straight.. well its OK but evrytime i close/open LFS it will reset that and i have to do it evrytime again =/

im not sure bout the english ver of the menu but its something like Steering and then FF/Axels and there should be 4 bars and the top of em is the steering if i remember right.. others are like gas/brake etc

You both may find This (http://www.wingmanteam.com/files/Tools/DXTweak2/DXTweak2.exe) useful. My LOT used red MOMO Force has lost some calibration on the wheel (it's center is few degrees awry to the left) and i have made the break pedal stiffer with the squash ball mod (http://www.lugnutsracing.com/pedals.html), so I can't press it down the full travel, unless I start bodybuilding first. The DXTweak2 (link above) is answer to all problems this kind.

DXTweak allows you change calibration information and
deadzone settings of a DirectInput game controller and
test the effect of the changes directly.

The DFP calibrates itself so it should be fine. I use the latest wingman drivers with mine and then move the wheel to its extreems when I enter LFS and then its fine.

As far as I can recall, under XP dead zones won't persist, you will need to reset them every time you reboot.

That tool looks good, but it won't work with WinXP.

How hard is it for LFS to put a deadzone slider in the options menus somewhere?

It's not fun veering off slightly to the right with no way to fix it.

IIRC it'll work in XP as long as you leave the program open in the background. it's not optimal as it eats some system resources, but sometimes I have to do the same thing in win2k, which has the same non-persistent deadzone problem (FFS Micro$oft, honestly).

well, in my Thrustmaster FF GT i had to open the wheel and re-mount everything again with a "new" position for the steering sensor.
Its ok now, but... the FF its not smooth in the first 2º i turn left or right. with FF off its smooth again...

Are you using the latest version of the Logitech profiler? I have not trouble with mine in what ever number of degree mode I want to set using the profiler. I have to fight sometimes when switching games for the profiler to realize that a new config should be used, but I never have on-center problems.Does your wheel go through the full cycles of lock to lock in 900° mode and in the limited ° mode when you start up the computer or plug in the controller?
