Suits arent selectable, but you can replace the original ones.
Helmet's should work though. Did you leave the "HEL_" at the beginning of the file name?

OK guys I know this is a Sim racing game but the formula V8 is too twitchy for my taste driving this car is like skating on ice don't you think????
redbullf1
19th February 2006, 17:56
Currently the physics at low speeds aren't good enough, which is why it's hard to get that car off the line safely. It's being addressed and should be improved in the next patch. Good I hope that it will be essayer to drive soon but i love this game.
redbullf1
2nd March 2006, 18:07
Well it won't necessarily be easier to drive, I don't think it's supposed to be easy to drive, but it should have better grip at low speeds once it's patched. Hi are you doing do you no when the patch will come for the game.

Are you a mouser or do use pedals and wheels? There are a number of things you can do to try in your setup and calm things down slightly. But the FO8 will always be a bit of a handful . . .

How do people do the suitless guy, with the blocky hands?
Wow faster111 you actually post around here? Im suprised they havent kicked you out of the community. Your attitude is just poor in game, hitting and crashing people, running vote bans on anyone. And from your posts i can see you're not too bright either, i guess that explains the poor insults thrown at me in some form of dyslexic english. You're fast ill give you that, but thats about it.

Don't they just replace the driver model with a spectator model? Kinda pointless but there you go. Horses for courses.
bbman
3rd March 2006, 21:07
No, basically, its the model of the driver without the mesh of suit, gloves and helmet put over it... At least I think so... :Looking_a

ermm theres is a thread in this forum about rfactor and what people think of it.. many peoples views is that rfactor is good but it just doesnt match lfs!!
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=4719
lfs physics are way better that what rfactor has, also lfs has more content: cars and tracks. Graphically rfactor is better but thats about it........ it has hardly any tracks and cars plus some of the track mods arent very good quality....
lfs won the sim of the year!! and multiplayer of the year so just stick with lfs...
but if u really want to buy rfactor then go ahead... its not that bad, has a few ok mods out for it (porsche carrera cup, f3) and is enjoyable to play if u aint a real sim-er and dont mind the bad physics!!

Who is that 30 year old in that pic? Is it you? Are you 30? In which case why do you type like that. Do you know the difference between no and know? Your and you're? You put spaces after a . not before (except in that example). Normally I'll cope with complete lack of grammar, but recently more and more people are typing like they've just blown their brains out of their nose.

I don't know why he type like he do but there can be several answers to your question. English my not be his native language or perhaps he has the same problem as I have with spelling (I have to check almost every word...). It's not that easy to write in another language knowing that people will check your grammar and spelling.

4th March 2006, 10:42
I appreciate that Tooby, but he's from Canada. The basic options for languages afaik in Canada are French and American-English. Judging by his general typing style and previous posts I'd say French wasn't he main language, as he'd know how important punctuation is, just like accents are in many languages. Therefore I am assuming English is meant to be his first language, and he sucks at it.
I don't go around telling non-English speakers to improve their English.

Bonjour RedbullF1. Desolait Monseur mon petit francais. Pardon la imbecile ala android et tristancliffe. (Non Googled Secondary School French. Very bad . . .lol)
And to all the rest of you. Give the man a break. It's fairly obvious that English is not his strong point but he has always been polite and asking sensible questions. I am always fair with my flaming and this criticism of Redbull is bang out of order. Help him with his inquiries not shoot him down for doing nothing offensive.

What, start a heated discussion and then argue about it? :D
Anyways, I'm 100% sure it wasn't meant personal, it's just that so many people whose native language is english slack off as soon as they're on a forum, making their posts unreadable. It was a fair chance to assume that someone from Canada is a native english speaker, so I can understand where tristan came from. As it turns out, redbullf1 isn't, so he has an excuse.

Second make sure your gears are mapped to buttons in Controls
Third make sure you aren't using the MRT which is down for first from N

Only use SHIFTER if you have a shifter that has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc a la Act Labs H-Shifter (http://firingsquad.com/hardware/actlabswheels/images/01.jpg). If you use the gear lever on a wheel (http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00006JJIC.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg), or the paddles like F1 then you use sequential.
So Sequential = http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00006JJIC.03.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
Shifter = http://firingsquad.com/hardware/actlabswheels/images/01.jpg
Hope I made that understandable.

Practice, practice, practice Mr French-canadian.
Try just sticking with your setup for a while and getting to know the track, braking points etc.
You times will fall through that alone.
