I want people's opinion about a matter regarding the MAYBE upcoming Destruction Derby league. We're not completely sure what cars to drive, but we are now stucked left with the TBO class, since it seems to fit just perfect.
What I want to know is what cars you want to use. I have not taken the RB4 in the pool, because it would be too good compared to the rest on the rallycross tracks.

Also I hope that the people that votes are people interested in joining. We have 24 race sloots, but I see nothing wrong about having 32 cars with some sort of qualify, generally I want you opinions! If you are interested, put up idea's and suggestion, aswell as opinion about stuff.

Also nice if you people that might be interesting gives some sort of feedback in this topic :)

As topic tells, lately me and some mates have been doing some Destruction Derby races for a change. As most of you know these kind of races are all out for physical contact and mayhem.
The purpose is purely to have some fun, as a brake from the ordinary LFS racing.

There are basically no rules, first man to cross the line (or if arenas as skid pads, last man moving) is the winner. Layouts are various kind of freak set-ups with bales, tyres etc that are there for making it more chaotic and destructive atmosphere.

So, if you want a nice brake from the serious racing, and just have some fun, come join the
[noobs] cow (iB) server (fail copy lol).

The setup at the moment is Fe6 and XRT.
Since it's all dedicated to the game DD2, we are using DD2 skins on the cars, the skins can be found here : http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=959352#post959352 , so before joining, please download and install these skins. (put into LFS/data/skins folder) .

So, why wait? Take a beer or four, come join now for a laugh and some destruction :)

Oookay, now I don't have a clue what's wrong actually. Tried both servers and it's stucked on the guest info part. The first sign is that you canot see anyone, then after that no one can connect.

Sorry guys, guess it's enough DD for tonight, I'll try to speak with my team mates and see what we can do about it, maybe restart the servers or something.

I mean, the point is to have fun, and crash and just laught at the others missery. But there allways seems that someoen just have to raise someone's agro meeter :p
So, please bear in mind that this Destruction Server is just for a laugh, not serious racing. You HAVE to know that you most likely will get crashed, since that is DD after all!

Now, when that is said, let's enjoy the simple fun with it :)
I can't do anything about that lag sorry, 32 cars and max connections just seem to lag, because there's allways someone with a bad connection. But you have to admit, even with the lag it was great fun hehe..

There maybe are some changes, meaning the server might soon be called [noobs] Destruction Derby , not confirmed yet. I am sure I will at least keep the server up running to 24.00 norwegian time :) And, when I am gone you can use it too after it's finalized and good 19.00 tonight. I hope to be using the server witch is set up with no player vote. Yesterday some people managed to both ban and doing shit when I wasn't watching, so I don't want that to happen again. The Very End said in 2 hours it will open, but i can't get there becuase i have school and 2 hours from know would be 11:10am for me. At this weekend I will be busy. Because tomorrow and to sunday my local cinema are showing Lord Of The Rings marraton, all the 3 movies on one night :D
And the rest of the weekend I need to refresh some parts of the appartment, painting 'n shit.. you know hehe..

So feel free to use the n00bs servers as you want, just not use it as DD server if most people wants to race on it.

But I don't want to go ballistic and kicking everyone either, so when they was ignored long enough they calmed down (the people who spammed). After those problem people regarding AI adding and spam settled down, then the server got filled up with a nice bunch of poeple. Looking forward and hope to see you on monday :)

Yes the only down side was the people spamming and constantly moaning about track & car. But I just ignored them most of the time.

For me the most fun was "racing" in oval, trying to avoid all the crashes and get to the goal.:schwitz:

There's a FE Club track which has the chicane closed off so you have to go flying over the hillside, but loads of people want KY1 instead. Dunno why - I was on the FE1 layout this morning and it was awesome. :thumbsup:

As promised, here is the Destruction Derby code taken straight from the instruction manual (but adapted for the server :tilt:)

When you first enter the Destruction Derby server, charging around the tracks banging anything with wheels on will keep you occupied for a while but to win races and keep your vehicle fairly intact make sure you follow these simple rules. They are here for one purpose and one pupose only: to ensure that you and your fellow drivers can fully enjoy the pleasures of the road. We are convinced that adhering strictly to these guidelines will result in a safer and more pleasurable motoring environment.

1. When being closely followed by an annoying car, simply apply your brakes firmly. This will stop the offender promptly in their tracks while causing considerable front end damage to their vehicle.

2. If you find your vehicle being overtaken, turn sideways into the rear corner of the overtaking vehicle. Often results in an impressive spin as the driver loses control.

3. Accelerate sharply into the back of a car as it brakes to take a bend. This manoeuvre will almost certainly finish with the rammed vehicle taking a nosedive into a wall.

4. Squeezing and ramming other cars sideways into oncoming walls and stationary wreckage is also highly recommended.

5. As you approach another vehicle, wait until you can see the whites of the other drivers' eyes then turn sharply so that your vehicle takes side damage while your opponents sustain crippling front end damage.

Follow these simple rules and endless hours of motoring enjoyment will be yours. However, you will have to learn for yourself how to avoid damaging collisions. And as any experienced Destruction Derby driver knows, this is the secret of a truly successful competitor.

Have set it up to KY1 with XRT as we speak.

When I or the other are around we can of course try other tracks and such, but as standar this seems like a good combo.

TVE just a little bit of constructive criticism here. What the server is at the moment is great but it could do with other cars being enabled, the RB4, FXO and possibly FZ5 work very well with the XRT. Also the FE Rallyx Reverse track is a fantastic track for destruction derbies, because of the very tight first corner and solid barrier. Also, don't know if you have already but you need to enable a spam-kicker as people seemed to be going mental spamming stuff over and over again

Isn't Norway +1GMT? Finland is +2GMT, so for my understanding, it should be other way around. When in Norway clock is 22, in Finland it is 23.

I've just played DD2 on my Playstation and I suck at it :D
The tracks are much more open than they were on the first one, and the cars are way faster.
Somehow I'm awesome at the first one & Raw, but not the second one.
