Press 'i' twice.

EDIT: you've been registered since april 2004 and now you ask how to start the engine? :really:

Because it's a race car.
All race cars are mostly going for the weight so they remove the starter and instead have a manual starter that they have in their hands, start the engine and remove it.

Simple ;)
And some cars needs to be pushed to start (not many).

Yep. You stall an F1 car, you're out of the race. They can only be started by poking a big, external starter into the back in the pits.

Didnt real life F1 cars used to have a backup starter if they happened to stall for whatever reason? This was a few years back though.

Yes, but tehy were hugely impracticle. There wasn't a quarantee that you even could start it up again... and there was not enough power to try it twice.

Nowdays it's impossible to stall an F1 car with all them technologies :really:

bf1 is so inconvenient, the pits don't start it (-.-)
