Please Help!!! [setting up a private host]

my mates and i want to race each other on LFS... but we cannot seem to be able to set up a race (where unwanted people cannot but in).
am i not allowed to? or am i just doing something wrong?

You should be able to host a game using LFS, and as long as your firewall and router are configured to allow things like that they should be able to join.

To keep other people out, simply use a password.

my firewall and router settings are fine.... i can set one up, but my mates cannot find me or the race/host title... is there are guide to setting it up somewhere? :D

this happened to me as well, i gave up in the end. It was just me and one mate who wanted to race together so he hosted instead. Funny thing is we have exactly the same spec pc's same hardware, same antivirus/firewall etc.. but it works on his and not on mine. :shrug:

I had this problem before. I couldn't host, well i could but no one could connect to it.

What i had to do was open ports, i really can't remember how i done it or what the address was i had to go too. If i find out i will pop it on here ASAP.

pick your router then the rest should be good it will tell you what you need to do just read it. this is very helpful for all routers and all games:thumb: bookmark it

Yes it is. If ur server is up but it's not on the list of hosts in game, just forward extra port 29339.
