You guys know score, I will not be at this round either i'm afraid.
HOWEVER, just received an email from Thunderhead:
"The team is yours, since I dont race anymore.
Only thing I have to give you are the updated skins without capsule logo.

This means that I am now the team manager for AMD Capsule.

It's unfortunate that we've lost these two.
So, this being known, I'd like your guys' help. I've bumped my post in the Teams forum asking for teams, and would like you guys to help point teams that you feel would be an asset / interested in racing oneGP. I will track a separate points listing for those who join from Round 9, and will give them recognition in it for being on the top of it.
Any help would be appreciated !

Let me know your team, and another driver. There's nothing against the Team Manager also driving, but this is a team-based series. :-)

Yeah sure, I'll see what I can do...
I've been keeping an eye on this for some time now...It's a pity it isn't too popular really
Oh yeah, if I do enter, please note that I'm by no means experienced with racing amongst BF1s, or even using the BF1. Hope that isn't a problem.
But if I enter then I will soon change that! :tilt:
Cheerio.

Hi,
That wont be a problem for you, for sure we would be and other teams happy to help with setup advice, sharing set ups and assisting where and if we can. Feel free to drop by 1GP servers, people can help you there with some racing experience which is important as the car sucks in close combat with particularly large aero losses.
I know you guys from Demo of old and know that the speed and efficiency learnt in FBM carries over particularly well to the BF1 especially in longer endurance races. The current first two drivers in the series table are recent grads from demo FBM racing, so i don't think you guys will have a problem.
Hope to see you on track.
All the best, Maz

Taylor. If your knee is feeling ok, then please race with me for AA the next few series. Oh, btw... On this Sunday I'm moving to the other side of the country. And I don't know if I'll have a computer or even a wheel to race with. Hopefully I'll be good to go. But if not then I'll be there for the race after SO. We'll see how it works out.

Wooz, it would make sense for me to be a part of AA. However, when I have devoted so much time to AMD, I would probably only do it if Dek could transfer the points that I have gained from all my races so far and add them to AA.
I am always short of a team mate, and Wooz is usually in the same position so it would make sense wouldn't it............Dek?
BTW Wooz, which part of the country are you moving to?

I'm moving to the northeast. Boston, MA. Actualy, I hate to do this sense the grids have been small lately but I wont be able to race in this next round. It turns out that instead of shipping my computer up to Boston, I'm ordering a new laptop that I'll use up there. The problem is that it probably won't get there until the 12th so I'll be out of commision from tomorrow until then. It sucks but it's one of those unavoidable things. :(
Taylor, if your knee is feeling better then you still have the go-ahead to race for AA. And if you know of someone else that is willing to drive then I give you the authority to let them. Just make sure they are clean. But don't push it if your knee is still in pain.

By the way, there's a reason I start these pre-race threads other than to get confirmations. It's to let the racers talk about the race. Talk about things like what might be the biggest factor in the race, (tyre wear, etc). These things, I feel, help generate interest in the series. Right now, it seems to me like most everyone is off in their little bubble, and only shows up to race on every other Saturday. That's not the way to make a series friendly and fun. The drivers have to interact on track and off to have a sense of community. This is NOT a series to seclude yourself until race day. If there is active discussion about the current evetns, and ways to improve the series, there will be interest, and will get MORE cars on the grid, and make the actual raceday exciting. It's a fact...the more chatter about it, the more popular something is, the more likely it will be talked about "around the water cooler" as it were.
So please, do oneGP a favor, talk about oneGP WITH OTHER PEOPLE (not just your teammates) on days other than the Saturdays for the race. The more excited the drivers in the series seem, the more likely it will be to get more in to fill the grid. Otherwise, what's the point ?
Sincerely,
dekojester

Completly agree.
So far can't talk much about next race because I haven't started to practice yet but I'm pretty sure that the main factor is gunna be the damage. One mistake and your going for a long trip to the pits :P.
Let's start a publicity campain for OneGP! Have to get it known because it's getting quite boring...

Firstly a thumbs up to anyone and everyone that has kept this going in one form or another, especially Dekojester and Mazar.
I wont bore you with a long story regarding my absence lol, lets just say it involved a very dead pc and moving to a new house and discovering adsl isnt available there. At this point im currently on a very slow dialup connection (not getting better than 31.2kbps :/ ) and so my abiltity to get online in anyway with lfs is extremely limited still.
As such i cant say that im able to rejoin oneGP and help the series with any of the online races etc as my connection just isnt up to the task.
But if there is anything that i can do to help the people who have taken up the running of the series then drop me a msg here and ill see what i can do. The oneGP domain name "www.onegp.net" can always be redirected if it helps, and/or i can tidy up the onegp site forum to suit what may be needed, or at least give help to those involved on how to restructure/edit the current onegp.net forum.
I lost pretty much everything from my pc that i had relating to oneGP (banners/images/rulesets etc) and stuff that was being done for future ideas with the series, but some i had uploaded to mediafire and so is some files i can pass on if needed too.
To be honest i debated whether to poke back in here now or not, as i dont want to interrupt what progress may be being made - as far as things go i consider the series to be run by dekojester and others now, so the direction of the series is entirely up to those people. But if anything i have, or can do, helps then let me know, and ill do what i can.
Apologies, and thumbs up for what has been done! Sometimes despite best intentions things dont always go to plan, but it is good to see the series alive in some form still.

Thanks mate, yep im not dead/in jail/or a prisoner of war lol, so alls good, just bad luck with my pc, and then net connection after moving. Just a disappointment to have not been able to do more for oneGP.
Will be doing some hotlapping to get back into swing of things again until i can sort out a better net connection and rejoin racing again. Let me know if u need someone to test setups for AA and ill do some offline lapping and help out.

Yeah, crazy ciurcuit indeed...
I really find it difficult to make repetitive stable times, sort of no time to rest and much time to lose in slow corners because of one proper fast racing line, also qualy might make life easier ;) also no obvious and safe place to overtake and tyre temerature might change by 20 degrees in beginning and end of stint. It might be a crazy one, but im in :nana:
Anyway, gl for all participants!!!

Mr. SlverArrows:
I am grateful for this series that you created, and will always honor you as the creator of it. NDR is mostly run by me, and I will do everything I can to make sure the creation idea is still adhered to. The series premise is excellent, and I really wish there was more participating at the moment. The competition with who has remained since Round 5 has been very excellent, so even though the quantity is low, I am of the opinion that the quality of the quantity is extremely high, and makes it worthwhile to still let the lights go green even if three or four show up on raceday.
You are very welcome to continue to support this series, I will be glad to have you as an assistant marshal whenever you regain decent connection. The more marshals present on raceday the better, as they can help me see actions, and they can go do initial reviews of incidents and then I can specifically look at them after to make the final call. Actually, since the NDR Kyoto 500, I've basically been the only one from the admin team present. It's a hazard of having a life, though, why the others weren't there.
And, I would indeed appreciate being sent any materials you have from your tenure with oneGP before your sudden departure.
I look forward to seeing you all tommorow morning.
Enjoy every sandwich,

@Dekojester - Well im just happy to see that someone enthusiastic and capable has picked up the reigns with the series, so my congratulations and thanks to you.
As far as the quantity and quality, id have to agree and it has been rather like that from the start. Hasnt always been the largest grids in oneGP, but the quality of the racing and drivers has always been fantastic and something the series should be proud of.
I always considered the first season of oneGP to really be the test run, with the 2009 season being where things really come together. By then rules and structure should have fallen into place and it will give a chance for new teams to join from the start, as i think the problem currently is its hard to get motivated to join a series season that is on is last stint of rounds. So hopefully this is what happens for you with the series now and you see more come and take part in the 2nd season.
Is a few ideas had in plan for helping season 2, including a support series using another singleseater class (or finding an existing series to work with) that would reward its series winner, and most improved driver, with a season contract with a oneGP run development team in the oneGP F1 Series. If your interested in any of the ofther ideas i had considered to help with season 2 let me know and ill pass them on.
As far as assisting with marshelling etc, id be more than happy to help once im back with a decent connection as i know how hard it can be to keep an eye on all the racing by yourself. Ill aslo find what files etc i still have and send them on to you :) Keep up the good work!

@robey - hey mate, thanks :) Nah wasnt kangaroos or koalas, their pussies and ill take them any day lol, its those freakin bunyips you got to look out for. You see i was camped by a billabong when suddenly a bunyip appeared and ............. well you dont want to know what happened next lol.
As far as your race appeal and what the outcome was mate, i have no idea now as that was part of what i lost, unless i can find any of it in my oneGP email account. Ill look mate, but as far as i can say im not totally sure anymore what it was or what the outcome was going to be, and its not for me to really apply any penalty in the series now. If i find what was there and send it to deko, ill talk to him about what outcome was meant to be applied at the time.
