View Full Version : Some one hacking in demo? (Not sure)

I was just in DEMO and some guy was spamming the server. We banned him but he came in again and changed his name to other players so we were trying to bann him but some times we banned the wrong people:ashamed: (sorry) < that was his plan.
But then he knew my actual real user name. How can he know that if it's demo?
He wasn't the admin or anything just a normal player (well not normal as he was acting like a child)

You say he knew your real username? Like the one here on the forum?

If so, he might have just come on here and searched your Racername (http://www.lfsforum.net/memberlist.php?do=search). You could be found easily if I looke dup your racername Crazy Bean.

As for someone hacking, doubt it. Just people acting like idiots on demo... you get it a lot around there. That is one of the reasons why fans of the demo end up going and getting a license... so they don't have to put up with the demo nonsense (banning/wrecking/etc) :)

I still have my S1 user name but i go on demo to race from time to time and he just knew it.
Crazy Bean was my name when i had S2 (friend let me borrow account)
I use random names in demo tho.

Edit: He knew my past names i've used as well like he had a log of me.

Well I really don't know... maybe he remembers you from a long time ago, I don't know. It is impossible for someone to hack and find out usernames.... besides, there is no point in doing it, so I don't really see any urgent problem at the moment.

(friend let me borrow account)
Hmmm he shouldn't do that, that is against LFS' license policy :Looking_a (more of a precaution to not put the owner at risk -- if they share, their loss  )

? LFS' license policy.. so a friend gives me user name and password and that's against the rules?

It isn't like they will hunt you down... it is more like a personal risk if you share accounts, because people share accounts and one person can change the information at anytime and the original owner would have some problems trying to get access back for their account. The devs don't like fixing mistakes that they did themselves when they had a warning. You see what I am saying?

Yeah you are his friend and all, but like I said, it is just a warning so licensed users don't give out account information and get their stuff stolen. Usually with mutual friends, this doesn't apply. But if it is a 'friend' from online... eh.

Can I be a "friend"?... Doh! I already got a license...
Seriously, My son plays this quite a bit too, LOL usually in between skating injuries. Well because of that I got times for Track/car combos I ain't done yet. If you're a real stickler for stats (hey! get a life!) then it might mess
with you that way too :) Me personally, I don't care. But I haven't driven the XFR at all and I think I got times posted for using it some where...
like I said, I really just don't keep up with it. but that's something else to take into account when sharing accounts.

For getting a LFS name, what about the CTRL+SHIFT combo? Nothing spiffy about that. :)

Doing this in Demo mode is trés spiffy.

[EDIT] UberSpiffy, in fact.

[EDIT2] In fact, the SpiffyMeister couldn't do better, I reckon.

[EDIT3] The one from Tresuberspiffymeisterville, no less!

UberSpiffy, in fact.

I was convinced with UberSpiffy. Since I paid for S1 and S2 before they were released, I didn't know the demo couldn't do that. I now know. Thanks! :)

bw_krupp: Take a hint - stop posting information towards that kind of information. :scratchch
I'm in a hurry now, so I hope this verbal warning is enough.
