After I red the last wishlist compilation, I came to think that the only extra I wish for my LFS experience would be to go out of the tracks and into a real-world driving experience. Let me explain this. Let's say that a big chunk of code turns actual roadmap data (the kind of vector data used in onboard GPS systems) into a giant "world" with lots of IA-controled cars and trucks and real "connected"' players. Pointless ? Considering a/ the price of gas and b/ my special fetish of driving while listening to music (stigiasis ???), this would be a wonderful game of it's own to go from one track to the other of drive all night from italy to England.

A 4-door XF for the wife would be nice too. :)

So, you basically want The Sims, LFS and Google Earth in one package? Awsome :D

As long as you could have some GTA content in there, I'd be into it

So, GTA without guns then? I bet Jack Thompson wouldn't know what to sue Scawen for.

Unless Scawen "forgots" to remove the Hot Victor -mode from source code... :smileypul

In short, there was a small mod for GTA: San Andreas called Hot Coffee that unlocked a hidden sex scene. From what I've heard you don't even really see much, and using the GTA engine I'm sure it's more cartoonish than realistic. But there was a huge public outcry about it nonetheless.

You can read more about Jack Thompson at the above address. To summarize, he's a lawyer from Florida here in the US who uses a crusade against video games to put his name in the papers.

Id love to have something like the original Driver. You chos your car and were free to do what you wanted, but you couldnt get out etc.

A brilliant idea, but id says there is about 0.00001% chance of it happening.

Thanks Forbin! I'd heard of the Hot Coffee mod and of Jack Thompson, but somehow not together...wow, what a jackass. Seems like there are lots more important issues in the US these days than some dirty kid's GTA addon...the Whitehouse/NSA/CIA is probably lurking around this forum right now, searching for "anti-American" sentiments, whatever the hell "anti-American" means...smells like McCarthyism...I better go and put my foil helmet on.

 I can see it now :D you log onto multiplayer and drive to the nearest track for a race but no ones there  they are all to busy driving around the virtual world taking there wifes on sunday drives :p

In this virtual world will you of course have to stop for fuel :shy: which means you need to pay for it  so will we have virtual jobs too :x oh silly me :tilt: we will be paid for racing so we will have to win races to drive around in the virtual world, finally something for the 20k credits or more that most of us have

Instead of wreckers at turn one though we will see hoons and street races endangering the innocent sim driver lives :D Will there be virtual Cops as well?

I was going to post something like this in the off-topic section. A thread something like "If you could design the ultimate sim?" My thoughts were that the game play would follow something like this. You win the lottery or something and have a chunk of money. Not much so you have to invest it or make more racing as part of the game play. Every car imaginable would be modelled and you start out with purchasing a car you'd like, say, as a daily driver. You can buy cars, trucks, racecars, of course, you need a hauler or nice pickup truck and trailer to haul the racecar. Real roads would be modelled of the real world. Real tracks would be modelled in their actual locations. You buy your homebase and drive wherever and do whatever you want. On "public" roads, you of course have to obey the traffic laws (stop signs, traffic lights, etc.) Meet up with people in the local parking lots (carparks) and organize a car show / cruise. Drive to the track hauling your racecar for some races. Combine driving/racing simulation with flight simulation so you can purchase an airplane and fly around. Fly over the race track and spot Forbin, AndroidXP, and Hankstar battling it out down below. Just like AndroidXP said, the Sims, LFS, and Google Earth all wrapped up together with MS Flight Sim thrown in there as well. That would be just so cool!

Dunno if I want you flying over me while I'm racing...how do I know you're not with the CIA and you're shooting some mind-control beam at me? I'll have to wear my foil helmet (http://people.csail.mit.edu/rahimi/helmet/) ALL THE TIME now!

I wish Live for Speed merged with X-Plane to include global scenery and aerodynamics model. When Austin includes driven wheels, we'll quickly get racing cars with downforce. :)

There comes a game like that testdrive unlimited, don't know if it's on the internet, but it's on Xbox360... you cant get out'of your car, but you have radio, wipers and stuff,

But if LFS would be the sims, LFS and GTA in one it would be cool,
and stealing cars would only be possible with a kit you know, you could jack a ride and sell it, and for more expensive cars you could have a better kit and less chance of stealing, you could buy new cars with all the painting good, or you could buy 2nd hand with rust and stuff.
It would be very nice i've thought 4 years ago of some kind of game, but it will never come i think. Cause it would be like €1000,- for the game, and developing would be like 5 billion dollars :P, and how would you do the controls, you drive with stearing wheel, you walk with keyboard and mouse, you jack with keys A till Z like in splinter cell. :)
and with jobs like police and stuff, you can get cought by police, you don't have guns
you know things like that, I would love it
