Hi,
I recently downloaded the LFS demo at work and loved it. I now want to play it without looking over my shoulder at home. I've downloaded the demo but there is a major glitch with the graphics, i've attached a screeenshot. It looks like a graphics driver error but I have the latest Nvidia drivers for my card, 71.89. This problem happens online and in single player/training. I have the Q patch. The PC specifications are below; I know its an old system but I am prepared to run the game in the minimum settings and belive the problem not simply being down to my PC having as much processing power as a cabbage. Many thanks in advance for all help.
Windows XP PRO SP2
AMD Duron 750MHz
256MB RAM
Geforce2 GTS PRO
60GB HDD / 40GB Free
All temperatures and voltages are exceptable

That might be missing textures, but highly unlikely, that is common if you have issues with your video card.
It could be many things that cause this:
-Incompatible video card drivers. Consider updating your drivers, or reverting to an older version.
-Video card could be overheating, and that usually causes artifacts or may not load all the textures. Something could be wrong with the video card in general.
-You MIGHT have missing textures, but normally the game would warn you that the textures are missing when loading the track. If textures are missing, you should redownload the FULL zip available on the main website (www.liveforspeed.net).
-You do have an old system, which just meets the requirements of this game sort of.... Is your video card 64mb? I have a desktop system that is 933mhz with that same GF2 64mb card you have. LFS works fine on it.

It's true. Remember the crash servers in S2 Demo? On BLGP Carpark.

Yeah, at first I thought it was the AutoX lot, but then I edited it and didn't remember. (Training lessons would've clued me in).

what version of directx do you have installed?
also, not sure what version of directx LFS was programmed with, but the gf2 card is a DX7 card. If LFS is using DX8 code, its possible that could be causing the problem. but first, i'd recommend seeing if you have the latest version of directx installed (9c i believe).

Good point there, glyphon. LFS does use directX 8.

-Incompatible video card drivers. Consider updating your drivers, or reverting to an older version.
I have the latest drivers and am slightly reluctant to reverting to an older version. I may try this as a last resort.
-Video card could be overheating, and that usually causes artifacts or may not load all the textures. Something could be wrong with the video card in general.
The card is not overheating and works perfectly in Half life and other games
-You MIGHT have missing textures, but normally the game would warn you that the textures are missing when loading the track. If textures are missing, you should redownload the FULL zip available on the main website (http://www.liveforspeed.net).
I have tried re downloading and replacing my install/extraction. No improvements

The card is only 32MB I think, this could be the problem. Although in the options settings checking half texture size reduces the memory used to only 10.6MB but the problem still occurs.
Thanks for your suggestions

That is the only thing I could recommend right now really (revert to older drivers).
But because it is such an old card, you're right, it can be kind of scary to go back to anything older :)

Just some other thoughts.
-Attach your card_cfg.txt file here (in main LFS dir).
-Also try the game in windowed mode and switch back and forth. To do this, press SHIFT + F4. See if windowed mode changes anything.
