Right iv been banned once for which iv known why, because i was out of order and rammed someone.. i own up to that, but the next bit i do not get, after 2 months of being banned, my ban is over, so i got onto the server, joined the race come out of the pits.. well i didnt even get out the pits, i was already banned!, there was only 2 users on the server which were not even really racing, just pissing about.

At the moment im a bit pissed off... i knew what i did first time.. but this time im not taking it! :gnasher: Just sort it out.. im not gonna take it anymore.

DONT WORRY,
Didnt read the forum Correct my mistake!

Your ban only starts the moment you enter the server the next time after being banned...

Well that really did not happen with me i remember getting Booted out or banned then it said "Host refused Connection"

LOL

As Gil said, your ban only starts after you join once, to make sure people who get a ban, but for example go on vacation and don't play for two months anyway still have to serve their time off. I guess contacting the CTRA admins on this issue will resolve it, though.

You 2 misunderstood him, his ban (seems to be) was over and he got on the server again, but then the 2ppl who were there votebaned him.

But votebanning isn't even enabled on the CTRA servers, is it?

I didn't think votebanning was possible on CTRA servers :really: I'd be very surprised if it was, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing CTRA would allow.

In theory, it's a good idea, but he knew he was banned, and therefore made no attempt to connect, because it would be pointless. It doesn't work for the people with an ounce of common sense

Oh ok, btu he said he WAS on the server after the ban, and only after that he got banned or something.

You missed the point.

His 2 months are up, so now he made an attempt to connect to the server, because he thought he'd finished his ban, when infact he'd not even started it.

yeh kinda wat he said i waited 2 months now iv gotta wait another 2 months

Oh in that case, it's perfectly normal. As stated before, a ban doesn't start until the next time you try to join the server.

We usually wait for people to appeal before unbanning them, so that we can be sure that they understand that what they did is not permitted, and so that they will not do it again in the future.

As Jack (mcintyrej) rightly says, the ban *starts* the first time you try to join the server, after receiving your ban, so sometimes bans don't start for MONTHS after they've been issued. But a ban is not very effective if it comes and goes while you are in Barbados, sipping pina coladas.

We want to get drivers' attention when we ban them, so that they WANT to fix the problem with their behaviour, and that is why we wait until you want to race and then we tell you why you can't..

We appear to have an answer to this question, and so it's time to help this thread drop out of sight. :)

Jordan2007: if you think that you've been wrongly banned then you can appeal (see www.raceauthority.com), but bear in mind that we keep the server-side replays for verifying people's claims.

Thread closed, thanks to everyone for their input.
