In the final race before the summer break the battle of man and machinery ran on Aston North, lasting 59 hard laps. It was the first time 1stBFA|filo was able to catch the pole for his team with only 0.02 seconds in front of FPR|Matze, followed by NWRT|-=Ice=- and spdo|KiLl3r, all within a short range of 0.3 seconds.
But as seen later the pitstop strategy and the handling of the damage was essential!
FPR|Matze was able to overtake 1stBFA|filo within the first corners and in addition to his 2-stop-strategy this was the base for his victory. spdo|KiLl3r had big problems in the first laps and recognized that his set will not last the race. A few laps later he gave up. Both drivers of cyber-racing also had a lot of trouble in the first laps, so they found themselves at the end of the pack.
Throughout the whole race there was a hard fight for the podium spots. Not until the end of lap 45, when 1stBFA|filo and ^P^Storm did their last pitstop, the situation was fixed and clear: FPR|Matze would win with an enormous gap, 2-stop-strategy worked better on that track for him. ^P^Storm did the mistake to change tyres again in his final stop, allowing 1stBFA|filo to leave the pits just ahea of Storm, which he was able to bring home. Also the two NWRT-drivers did the 3-stop-strategy resulting in hard fights for the rest of the points down to place 8.
In the end the last but one chicane was the crux for a lot of drivers, some left the track here, some others suffered too much damage in that. Only 9 drivers saw the checkered-flag where as a bunch of 18 started the race. The both NWRT-drivers VeTeR and -=Ice=- finished in 4th and 5th, followed by SpeedCore.GTR on 6th, 1stBFA|haelje on 7th and the last one point goes to ^P^Flip.
On the podium there was FPR|Matze with his first victory in the current season, with a gap of nearly 40 seconds in front of 1stBFA|filo, who was able to catch his first podium ever in the OWRL F1 and the first for his team in the current season. The 3rd place and 6 points go to the all time consistent ^P^Storm. Surprisingly cyber-racing was not able to catch points this time, cyper|scipy finished the unlucky 9th position.
We will see, how the teams and driver will return from the summer break, the next track will be the well-known Blackwood. Factory Phantom Racing leads in team championship, followed close by the North-West Racing Team. In the driver championship FPR|Matze closed the gap to the leader ^P^Storm to one point, so a exciting second half of the season can be expected.
